would it be possible for a PS2 to emulate SNES?because i have action replay for the ps2 and it has a option for playing sega roms on the ps2...so would there be a emulator to put on the ps2 to play snes roms?

I think the Megaman Anniversary Collection is actually a collection of ports, probably based off of the Rockman Playstation collection thingy that was only in Japan. I say this because things like the sounds being actual sounds that can play over each other and not the NES bleeps and stuff seem to make it seem like it's not an emu. Also, I don't htink they could emulate the Playstation, could they?

I'd assume Megaman Collection works in a similar way, Sonic Mega/Gems Collection, etc. for instances where it needs to save and whatnot.

i kinda wondered how that worked.
So what about the megaman collection.
Does it work the same way?

They don't use IPS. They use a custom-made emulator with patch information built in. In fact I don't think it even patches the ROM, it just checks when the emulated SNES CPU is about to do a certain function, then jumps out of emulation mode and has the PSX CPU do it instead, since it's faster that way. The Zelda collection for Gamecube does the same thing to save.

Here's what you should do.

Save up all your money and buy a PSP.

Download your roms onto your PSP and the proper emulater.

And play Final Fantasy 6 when\wherever you want untill your battery dies

Final Fantasy Chronicles (or whatever it was called... had Crono Trigger and FF something) did technically emulate SNES, but only because they used a specially-developed, very-high-level emulator written by the people who programmed the original games. The emulator basically replaces large parts of the SNES code with PSX code to get it running fast enough. Without doing something like this, PSX is simply not powerful enough for SNES emulation (and before you ask, no, you probably can't do that for whatever other game).

Interesting to note that it also supplies the game's resources (text, graphics, etc). The game is in English but the SNES ROM is in Japanese.

I thought's that what they did but that last part is strange.

I don't know beans about hacking but my only guess is that they put japanese rom there and place an ISP patch. That is only a guess though.

The reason why this would make the most sence is because we are already making ISP's so why couldn't they? It would seem easier that way.

A SNES emu for psx? I don't think this will be possible. The psx processor is not too powerful to emulate SNES. I think this must be a hoax.
