Oh yeah, Legion reminded me of a good point.
These rereleases really point out to me how I need to buy it for DVD format.
I have all these stacks of VHS tapes and have nothing to play them on.
Even if I did bother to hook up the ole' dusty VHS player, the quality would be crap.
I really should get that Toy Storys special before my tape stops working... Thats a classic movie. |

A transfer being the picture quality, the aspect ratio and whether it's anamorphic or not (meaning if it's specifically made for widescreen TVs or not), that kinda thing. |

Certain newer, "special edition" releases have better transfers, or may have extended footage. You know, cool stuff that matters. Extras, for the most part, I don't care too much about unless it's a movie I really love. |

Half the time, the special features suck. I'd just be happy with the $5 version found in the DVD Bargain Bin.
The only thing I reallly would go for is that 9-disk 'The Matrix' eddition. Drools! |

...because a new edition, the "Don't Call Me Shirley!" Edition, comes out November 15th. This must be why the original DVD isn't being sold anymore. |
