Yeah but he also designed most of them at once...how else can you explain the existance of Kecleon in the bacground of the Satoshi Tajiri-endorsed manga during the RED AND BLUE saga? And as far as going through alot of changes, Rhydon actualy always looked the same even in beta stage...Lapras and Staryu were probably the most changed...and being they were both the same size and Blastoise + Nidoqueen were ugly little things towering over the Pokemon center (and dont get me started on that ugly beta lapras/slowbro thing ), its surprising RHYDON didn't change very much...theymust have had a thing for him, starting out the list with it and everything. Least they could have done was made him, you know...not suck?

Well maybe they wernt thinking of the evolution process until later. And the designs probably went through many changes, so the original rhydon probably looked really different from what it does now.

I think thats right, otherwise all the missingnos would be together if they were in japanese alphabetical order, and the missingno's are simply deleted pokemon

So you stuck it in here? Gee, thanks .__.;;

I know it is not the Japanese alphabetical, even if the bad programing thought ka was ga...because alphabeticcly you would begin with Abbo, Abboku, Azumao, Bariyaado, etc...which is Ekans, Arbok, Seaking, and Mr. Mime, not Kangaskhan and Rhydon ;s

edit: this is pretty technical. Let's keep it here, this time >.>

Kangaskhan + Rhydon = Garura and Sidon so, that is not the case. What is the difference between those two codes anyway? If they just do the same thing..

Probably not, but looking at that example, it's possible. The compiler/filesystem/whatever may have treated 'ga' as 'ka'. Though yeah, it's probably not that.

And those codes don't do exactly the same thing. Try 'em out.

Even I know why that code does that with Oak. Its a trainer battle modifer. It would work with ANY trainer in the game, it is not special since we all know Oak has a definition as a trainer. Missingno. evolves into Kangaskhan because he starts the list of course ._.; Pokemon 0x00.

Okay, I donĀ“t see how you can get Missingno to evolve to other pokemon than Kangaskhan.

My missingno always evolved into Kangaskhan whenever I tried it.

Ok maybe I might be wrong.
Most of the crap came from hear'say anyways.
But the prof oak battle does exist.
I went looking for it and I found it in one of my old gamefaqs printouts.

As it says in the FAQ.

I was really excited about the Missigno effects, and I got rare-candy happy. I seem to recall that it had some negative effects on my game, though. Still, it was one of the funnest features in Pokemon Red and Blue.

And since you brought up the code, 01xxd8cf (or was it b8...try both i guess) is the code or catching any wild, just replace xx with a hex number. keep in mind trainers and pokemon share a bank so you might fuck up your game.
