According to the dictionary, a sprite is.
" A small bitmap image, often used in animated games but also sometimes used as a synonym for icon."
So basically, the word sprite will work as well as graphics if you ask me.

I believe he is looking for graphics from the eReader levels of Super Mario Advance 4. In which case, yes, Google is in fact his friend.
