VLC Media Player has a snapshot option, which is quite useful. (It also has the 'images come out black' problem if you just use Print Screen, though, but only if you enable overlays.) Otherwise, I think turning off all hardware acceleration for videos will allow you to take screenshots, but will also cause some slowdown. |

Media Player Classic also saves screenshots from videos (I use it often with DVDs . . . ) |

VirtualDub can save image sequences from a video file. Quite powerful. Otherwise, no - video is an "Overlay" not written in Windows but drawn on the video card hardware. |

My brother's laptop has a program called the Samsung Multimedia Studio. The clip player was able to take snapshots. He got it when he bought this Samsung MP3 player. I'm not sure how you can get it besides the MP3 player. |

I forgot how i was able to do this. If i push Screen Capture in the keyboard and paste it in any image editor, when i move the window of the image, it looks like it's transparent. Is this a problem with codecs, or is it another thing? Is there any video player which can take snapshots?
