Hey Bloyburt, if youd like I'll make you a site to post your screens and hack on. Just PM me if you want. Don't expect anything fancy though, I'm just trying to give you a nice welcome here.

Actually, with the right setup and permission from your ISP, you can indeed host things from your own computer. It's just a matter of the right software and hardware (I think you need hardware, I'm not 100% on that one).

And if you put it up on a bit torrent tracker, you are technically hosting it on your own computer, because it uses your (and other peers') bandwidth to transfer the file. But uh... I don't think a 1 or 2 meg (or probably even less) file really calls for either of these measures . Maaaybe if you had a package of them or something, or kept going over your bandwidth limit on your webhost.

When you upload to the internet it is on a server, not another PC. When its on your computer (the hard disk) it is just there, not on any server.

Go here to upload images:

Photo Bucket

Go here to upload IPS's (not zips tho):

What's with the red X's? Is it still linked to the hard drive of his computer?

Some people are new to the Internet (I didn't even know how to link images when I went to my first board), and don't really understand how it all works. If this is the reason, then I say it's an honest mistake. Also, some sites do indeed upload images for you, but not many.

Well, how should our PC know what's on a hard disk on another PC?

Other than 'it just doesn't' , do you really want people accessing anything on your hard drive? (the correct answer: no)

Use http://www.photobucket.com or similar sites to host your screenshots, and link from there.

As for your hack itself, you will have to use someplace like Geocities, or Angelfire or some other free service, assuming you don't have somewhere else to host it (not your hard drive ).

Why doesn't Linking From Your hard Disk work?

You have to upload it to some webspace. Same with your pictures. Linking from your hard disk doesn't work.
