The only issue was the graphics card, that was the only problem.

HH: His computer doesn't meet the minimum requirements to run Doom3. SiS "Graphics" cards are not supported by ANY video game manufacturer. It is HIGHLY likely it was the software trying to make calls to DirectX 8.0/9.0 on a non-100% DX 8.0/9.0 compatible card that crashed his machine.

Well that may stop the problem from triggering, but unless it's a bug in Doom3 itself, you haven't really solved anything. Computers aren't supposed to do that.

Forget get it, I got rid of doom 3 earlier, so no more help. I am getting heretic 2 to see if that goes well on my computer.

You might also want to check your temperatures and wall outlet. Bad wiring will of course screw things up, and most computers will reboot when they start overheating. Games like Doom3 can really push your CPU/video card to the limits, so they heat up quick.

That tells me nothing, other than the fact that you can't play Doom3 on a SiS graphics product...

Can you tell us your computer specs, so we know what you're trying to play Doom3 with? Especially your video card. And when was the last time you updated your video drivers?

I will show you the power supply detail: Model: ATX-2513-P2. Input:100-127V ~/6A 200-240V~/3A 50-60Hz. I think it is made by HOPELY. In the game is it better to change it from full screen into 500x600 screen resolution.

Look at the back of your computer. The power supply is the one with the cord that goes to an outlet on your wall or surge protector if you use one. It should have a grill on the back with a fan. It should also have the main power switch on it that turns your computer off and on. Inside, it's a metal box with a bunch of wire bundles coming out of it.

Where exactly is the power supply?

As for me personally, I just look at the actual power supply itself. There should be a sticker on there with the information.

By the way, Doom 3 isn't exactly the most "hardware friendly" game out there.

On some newer computers it tells you on the start up screen. You know, the screen that is black with white text. Mine is 450 watts.

I tried searching thru the my computer thing and system stats, but couldn't find anything. Just look carefully on your start up screen.

You could also try googling to find the answer.

How do I check my watts?

That's somewhat vague....HOWEVER...

I had the same problem with World of Warcraft some time ago. At first, it was fine. Then a couple months went by and for some reason, it started resetting my computer every now and then. Highly annoying, I know.

Turns out it was my power supply. I went and bought some cheap ass one which had a higher wattage output than my last one and I never had a problem again. So with that being said, check how much watts your power supply gives. My old one was 250w (which played Doom 3 fine actually but at one point it played WoW fine too so it must have been damaged. It was a few years old and I've always left my comp on at all times.) and my new one is 350w.

The watts may not be the problem actually, it could just be that your power supply is dying. Luckily, they're not terribly expensive. Keep in mind that I'm just speculating what the problem is, it might be something completly different like your video card.

I have a big problem with my computer. I just got doom 3 and I tried to play it for a while, when I of a sudden the computer restarts itself. Any suggestions.
