just watched this: http://tmst.twu.net/flash/151forever.html

outside of it being a waste of about 6+ minutes of my life...i had no sync issues...

i wonder was that because
+ I wasn't running much of anything in the background,
+ using Win2k
+ used Microsoft drivers
+ only hav 2.5mb of Video ram
+ using a p3-200
+ i played it off the HD instead of streaming it

anyways, i really doubt it is because of hardware issues. maybe if you have a fresh installation of the OS, then it will not arise...but i dont' think it is worth it to go that far...

And I just tested http://tmst.twu.net/flash/151forever.html on my pentium 2 computer which is around 400 mhz.

The movie was playing slow and in the end the song was 1-2 seconds before the movie.

I used Firefox, but there is no diffrence between the browsers. It's the same plugin. And the fact that Badger Badger get's out of sync after awhile is well-known.

Try to right click on the movie and select "quality>low" that hopefully will help some sync problems. And it increase the speed and the framerate
Edit: Eh I tested with low-quality. Even if the framerate got better it still got desynced. But I deteceted that I could sync it by pressing the pause and then play button when it get's desynced...
Yes, as I just told you.

And on my 300mhz, some things are crap, but others are okay.

I know, I just like saying Badger, Badger, badger, badger, badger, badger, badger....

Damned memes... even I'm not immune to their addictive stupidity.

With some movies, hitting "PLAY" [Right click menu ] twice will occasionally ressync it or make it worse.

You'll know if the music stops.

I use the trick with the "Real Saddam" movie.

How badly out of synch would you say it is?

Like everybody else said, it could just be some bad flash work out there.... or you could be watching Badger, Badger, Badger..... o.o

MUSHROOM MUSHROOM!

Heh....

Um, you might have to show us which ones you mean so we can see if it's out of synch ourselves.

I'm thinking it's either just my bad luck, or I just happen to always watch ones where the synching wasn't perfect. Note that I haven't seen any with real people talking in them, so it may just be akin to cartoons on T.V....

hmm...makes me wonder what Macromedia has to say about this... because flash wouldn't be everywhere if it didn't work since the inception of the internet...

anyways, unsure what to suggest other than to contain Macromedia tech support...

Every flash movie I've ever seen, wether on this Pentium 233, on my AMD k6 II, or my friends P3, has NEVER been synched. Ever. Doesn't matter who made it, or how long it is.

do these movies come from the "same" person? and how long is "long"?
in addition, maybe you can give me a link to one of them so i can see?

I wish I knew the specs. I don't. Pentium 2, something else, something else, blah blah. Basically it runs generally ok. I guess newer games would be very slow on high-resolutions, though...

Anyway, it *appears* to be every flash movie. ~.~ Ah, looks like I'll need to get a new Pc sometime, then... Jeez, so much hassle...

is this every flash movie? or just that one particular one? if it is that one particular one, then I believe it is the flash movie's fault, and not the player or your computer hardware for that matter.

there is a reason why audio and video do not sync but it is a little complicated to explain

By the sounds of it, the video is being delayed and the movies don't have any sort of syncronization. You might be able to extract the audio somehow and play it separately, otherwise I don't think you can do much.

How old is the computer? It would help with little computer specs...

I know for sure that my pentium 2 computer, who is an 400 mhz runs flash movies very slow. But i'm not sure if it does play movies out of sync... (I test 151forever on it and see if it get's out of sync)

It's probably the way flash movies I built I guess, I don't know how Syncing works in flash movies. But it could be the author who didn't take slow computers into considiration.

I wonder, which flash movies have gone out of sync for you? I go and test them on slower computer and see what happens for me...

Is there any particular reason that the audio gets out of sync whenever I watch a long flash movie? The audio plays faster than the video. I have the latest version of Macromedia Flash Player and I use the latest version of Internet Explorer. I have broadband, so my connection is fine, and I don't have tons of programs running or anything...

I'm guessing it comes down to the fact that this Pc is just getting old and it's slower than newer computers, but... I don't know, it runs other things generally ok, I don't see why flash in particular would get out of sync.
