He used lighting effects to make the can metallic. Textures make up the picture and the wooden surface. Also the background is considered a sky used for the rendering. I don't ue 3-d max but from what I heard, it's pretty close to Lightwave capabilities. |

Yeah, but the Help file gives you a ton of in-depth info on what everything does, which helps a LOT on its own without any external source. |

Those are pretty amazingly awesome. The only thing I've ever done in 3ds max is like, making a ball, but my cousin is sweet at it. |

Ah, thank you! ^^;
Yeah, it's all done with High Dynamic Range imagery; that's what makes the reflections and such look real. I am using another plug-in (not the default one) for lighting which makes things like shadows look photorealistic. As for learning 3ds max, All it takes is a stroll through the help file and maybe a tutorial or two, though books on the subject never hurt, either
I'll be sure to show any more stuff I create with it here. In fact I think I might go make something now! =D |

These pictures are kickass. I've never tried 3D Studio Max. I hear it's very complex, but if you can figure it out, you can come up with some amazing things.. like you have here. It seems like you have got a few convinced that they are photographs. That really says something about your skill. Originally posted by Keikonium This is art for sure. I'm wondering if you're aware that you actually said this. |

I'm not sure if it is acceptable to post 3d renders here, but I see them as art, too. =D
I've been learning 3ds max for a while now (a couple of years) just by teaching myself, figured I would show you some of the things I have made so far for fun.
Coke Can: Just a coke can I made, I was playing around with HDR textures.
Back view:
Gradius Fruit Snacks: I was making this for a friend who is a huge Gradius fan. Now that I think about it, I haven't finished this yet.
Hopefully I'm not messing up big time by posting this here! ^^; |
