Heh. Sorry, that show is so fucked. I mean, SWGD is one of my 10 favorite tracks right now, and I absolutely love Fall Out Boy's song titles, but I really have no desire to see the Fusion tour when it comes around here because they'll play SWGD and I'd be surrounded by all these stupid kids who don't understand anything about music that go to the concerts with their parents just to see the people in the band, and the one song they know. Maybe if I became familiar with their other stuff a little more I'd put up with them. Maybe. 'Cause then I'd feel like I actually belonged there.
I had the same problem with the fucking My Chemical Romance kids last week. Four bands that I wanted to see (including them), and those kids fucked up all four of the sets. Gerard announced 'This song is called "The Ghost Of You"', and at that very moment, it was closer to feeling like I was actually on Trl than anything I'd ever experienced in my life. |

Well... I went to The Return a couple of weeks ago, and I wasn't even there for most of the show, even thought they are a kickass band that no one has ever heard of.
I think I'm gonna go see Sleater-Kinney in October, and later in October I'm going to see Straylight Run and Plain White T's.
Then on November 11th I get to go to Nintendo Fusion Tour, Fall Out Boy, The Starting Line, BoysNightOut, Motion City Soundtrack, Panic at the Disco. Yum!

Don't mean to be put in the gloating circle again, but my friends and I got tickets to see System of a Down on Tuesday. They may not be DKM, but they're still pretty damn good.
Two concerts in one summer. Good for me. |

I haven't posted Reading's line up this year... I'm not going because I have no money, and there isn't one of my "must watch" bands on the line-up. I know you're skin me alive for saying that with the likes of Maiden, but we're talking "see if it makes me bankrupt"

No Rock in Live 8?
Now even if you discount COldplay, you still have U2, The Killers, Velvet Revolver, Razorlight, Pink Floyd AND the Who!
All were awesome, oh and Paul Mcartney too |

Ah you got to see Dropkick Murphys, man thats harsh. Ive been wanting to see them for awhile.
Like you said The Offspring is really good live, I saw them in Philedelphia awhile back.
I would have rather gone to Sounds Of The Underground tour, I am a big fan of almost every band on the line-up. Have to wait till next year.. |

And, according to thier online poll, the Dropkick Murphys are going to be playing for an extra 10 minutes. Today is grand.
I hate you. I really really hate you. Lucky bastard. Be sure to tell us about it. You're gonna have a kickass time.
Well, since you wanted to know, here's some notes from last night...
- It was hot as hell there. Water and Gatorade sold like crazy all day. I really didn't care about the heat so much, I just wanted to see some bands. Some band played, and they were pretty good. My friend thought they were Atreyu, but I found out later it wasn't them. - My Chemical Romance was alright. I was never really a huge fan of them to begin with, but as far as performances go, thiers was decent. - I was the only one out of the three of my friends who had heard of Millencolin, so I checked them out. They were quite good, and made a strong showing for themselves.. - I was introduced to Street Dogs, who impressed the hell out of me. A very good stage show, and good music to boot. - The Offspring really impressed me. I already knew they were a good band, but they were EXCELLENT live. If you ever have a chance to see them, do it. - And then, the last set of the night...The Dropkick Murphys. Oh. Em. Eff. Gee. I was about four or five rows from the barricade, and they played pretty much every song I wanted to hear. At one point, I was crammed to the barricade, wondering what was going on, until I saw Al Barr on the barricade singing with the crowd! I was getting my ass kicked by crowd surfers and moshers while listening to my favorite band live, and it was fucking amazing. Musical orgasmic bliss if such a thing exists.

Apart from that I've not been to any big rock festivals, I've been to several eisteddfods but they're more folky music.
To be honest I wouldnt wanna ever go to live 8

You serious? When I saw the line-up it was almost all what I considered not rock. Pop, R&B, etc.
Note that I dont consider bands like coldplay and linkin park rock. Just a personal thing, sorry about that.

WTF are you talking about Shadow?
I went. It was pretty much ALL rock and roll. With the exclusion of a few bands. Plus, it had two of the greatest Canadian performers ever. Neil Young and Gordon Lightfoot.

To be honest I wouldnt wanna ever go to live 8, all mainstream bands/artist. Plus its hardly any rock once so ever. Simple plan doesnt count, at all.
I think the most fun shows ive been to are the ones with local bands and everyone in the building knows the lyrics. We all end up on-stage singing with them.

Back when the city I live in had 75'000 citizens the Rolling Stones played a court-ordered concert because they caught Keith Richards with his drizzugs!
Perhaps someone will shoot someone or smoke some crack on camera in your city. |
