Thanks for the replies and sugguestions. I'll work on it again when I have some extra time on my hands.

(By the way, the empty space to the left they were refering to was the space at the bottom, to the left of the Firefox button.)

Me either. Looks good, just a few suggestions:

  • Use a smaller Firefox button.
  • Brighten the text slightly.
  • Possibly move this: to just before the text, eliminating more unused space at the bottom.
  • Move the text to the top. Depending on your code, you would either use "vertical-align: top" in CSS or "valign=top" in the <td> tag.

For the text, you should add some cell padding to keep the text from touching the left and right borders.

I don't know what you could do for the empty space on the left. I'd suggest that you get a smaller Firefox button, add it to the navigation list on the right side, and just keep the bottom blank. But it's up to you, no big deal.

Not bad at all.

Looks very nice, the only thing I'd point out is the text being squished to the left bar. Having it centered from top and bottom looks nice, I'd keep it that way. It's nice on the eyes, I like it. Good job.

This is the first layout I've attempted, and I'm still not satisfied with it. I'll probably try to get it so the text in this text box stays a bit further from the left side, and I also want to use the space to the left of the 'Get Firefox' button. I also can't decide whether to keep the text in the middle of the text box, or force it to the top.

What's your opinion?

Any suggestions, comments, or ideas?
