Got it! Got it! Got it! I'm the fucking god which I don't believe in! actual ruby map is in 0x303800, the pointer is at 0x3041c0, and sapphire map in ruby is at 0x2df044, so just repointed at the pointer and worked! Maybe I release a ruby-fixing patch for hackers. By the way, I'm the only who noticed this... am I the only one that got so far in a ruby hack? O_o Well, see ya

You answered your own question They probably use the "replace block by block" method... instead of the "replace whole map" function which I am almost certain R/S has... considering G/S has had it already (and they only used it 3 times though)

Anyhow... Your problem will be most likely solved by deleting all that garbage SetMapTile scripts (which actually should be named "SetBlock" but whatever)

"it's not a huge pile of setmaptile " means that there's no garbage of setmaptile/setblock script... I'm confused.

I'll try to find the map in coolman's way.

Mhh...
try to reproduce the map in the game at the place where it should be. Then you go there in the hexeditor and copy the map into your clipboard. Ater you copied the map you search for it. If you have found the offset, where the map is, you write down that offset. Edit the map in EliteMap/AdvanceMap again and then you copy the map again. Then you go to the offset you've written down before. There you paste your map...
I hope it works like this
