He wasn't going to come out and say it, as he would have been brutally murdered by the media afterwards, but you could tell.
And about Barry, the old school guy said how his reputation would be tarnished, and there's nothing wrong with that opinion. |

I think he would have come out and said something alluding to race if he's playing that card.
I couldn't see someone playing it on Barry though. Regardless of whether you love or hate the guy. |

If that's about the steroid scandal, then let's be honest - McGuire admitted to using supplements. Bonds is the most high profile player that's under the gun for using them now - and he just happens to be black.
It wasn't the steriod scandal as a whole, it was just Bonds, until Smith brought up McGwire, in a most annoying fashion. Because, obviously, if we're talking about one person, and that's what the segment is on, we need to switch off to something that has nothing to do with our present topic. |

Well, you can't say he isn't outspoken. And I don't think he was playing the race card, although I didn't see all of that segment. He's fine by me, so long as he isn't actually using it. |

It was on yesterday.
And thank you, someone who realizes what has happened to not just our sporting world, but the entire world. |

I'm not familiar with the incident you mention, but let me just say that the 'race card' is a sign of how disgusting our society is. I've nothing against blacks (or anyone else - this is just for the sake of the example), but when they hold the ability to cause any non-black to scamper away in fear of being called a bigot, something's gone wrong. No negative remarks can be made against a member of a minority, regardless of how legitimate the claim, without cries of 'bigot,' 'racist,' 'anti-semite,' or whatever else applies. It's created something of a modern witchhunt. |

GOD, seriously. I was watching ESPN the other day, and much to my misfortune this idiot comes on. It was on Sports Center, and it was the equally dumb old school nu skool. The topic got to are we going to look back at bonds in a bad light?
The old school guy, was correct, in saying yes we will. Smith on the other hand starts yelling, and says IF YOU'RE GOING TO ACCUSE BONDS, YOU NEED TO BRING MCGWIRE INTO THIS.
*sigh* No, we don't you loser. Race has nothing to do with this. That's the part that got me the most. He can be as obnoxious as he wants, but he dropped the race card because he was losing the argument. |
