Block 1 is the one you can't go down through, and it works fine.
Sorry, I guess I said it wrong. I inserted Block 2 (the one with the problem), set it to act like block 25, saved it and inserted it. Trust me, it's correct because I tested with all other direction blocks and it works fine. But when I put this block directly over a block with walkable ground, block 2 PUSHES me down THROUGH the walkable block, I fall through the ground and die. whenever i touch the block, it pushes me straight down each time. I can't move left or right through the block without Mario falling straight down, even if mario's feet are standing on ground he can walk on, he'll still fall right through it (he doesn't fall at normal speed, he falls VERY fast).
I hope I made it clear this time. I have a way of being vague.

When I bring Mario into it, he falls straight down. Does this happen for anyone else? If I put this block on the ground, Mario falls through the ground and he dies.
Is there a way to fix this.

Well, I'm lost now. All blocks are gone, the normal block tool screws up, too and some blocks won't work anymore and freeze the game.

Blech, I never knew about that Block Tool bug. I didn't compile that version, I just sent jonwil the updated ASM, and he took it from there. I'm still using an older version I hacked myself, which uses a different routine that's the same length as the original (I just hacked it to jump to a subroutine I inserted into the ROM myself). Don't ask me for a copy, though, as jonwil had a fit when I tried to distribute it. Besides, I don't remember what code it jumps to, or how it actually works...it's been a long time.

I know one of the only 1 direction type blocks has a bug in it. I think it is either the pass left block or the pass up block, can't remember. Also, do any other blocks from BT work for you? Perhaps you are inserting it wrong? Or maby have the properties set to something it shouldn't be.

I wish I could be of more help Ice Man, but the only thing I can think of is to use d4s Fast Rom patch. However, I think you already have that don't you?

Actually, BMF's special version has a small bug in it. Essentially, the patch that BMF's version includes is either too long, or too short (can't remember which) for the for loop that inserts the patch into the ROM. So, it probably chucks an access violation randomly. I noticed it when I made my own version of BlockTool (another project I couldn't be bothered finishing).

I know, but I'm not the only one who get the error, ghettoyouth gets it, too.

His version shouldn't cause any problems, it only changes the ASM code that gets put in the game. The actual block inserter program should be identical.

Well, I have 76 custom blocks in my hack and it really slows down at some points. I know BMF had a special version of Block Tool and I downloaded it, but after I inserted a few blocks, it gave me an access violation error. Now I want to know how to reduce or remove the slowdowns caused by the blocks, because I really don't want to release a buggy hack.

Thanks in advance.
