But... but what you're forgetting is:
REGARDLESS. The point here is two-fold:
* I'm CLEARLY new at this whole image macro thing that I'm told is all the rage with the kids these days.
* He's tooling around with the sound in a GBA game. Meaning he knows what he's doing and that hopefully, we'll move beyond the days of Cum Fu and Coke Head: Junkie, the GBA Big-Budget Remakes (no offense or relation of any type to Dr. Mario's hacks, which are actually good). |

And besides that people, this is more of a Sonic Community inside joke. It was a ROM hack, so he decided to show it to you guys. It is kinda funny. 
And btw, chaging sounds in a GBA game is mainly about locating the samples and changing them. SA3 uses the same general music notation format as the GBA Pok |

Actually, I would have to agree that it would be very nice to see hacks of this calibur, not content, more often. I have seen only one other GBA hack that touches audio. It's also very rare to see a GBA hack at all. It would make my day to see someone take Sonic Advance 3 and make a completely new level.
This also isn't my first hack on this board. This is just the first one to get more than a page of replies. Search for "Newtrogic High Zone" or "Sonic The Fighter."

That's not the point, though. Sure, any jack ass can make a crude hack that gives mario a penis or something dumb like that, but you don't seem to realize that THAT isn't quite the same thing as this hack. This is well done rather than an amateurish, half asked attempt at romhacking. That said, getting on this guys case without taking into account that he's done some quality work is just simple close mindedness. Many more people than I would have expected actually get this point.
I'd say the romhacking scene could use a little bit of humor (or at least the communities I know of could). |

Obviously he can do more than just mere text hacking if he's changing the sounds in a GBA ROM. His ability to ROM hack has never come into question, just his sense of humor

Yea, n00b talk, bad voice acting, and gross, stupid sex jokes are lame. They're the stupidest, lowest for of humor.
In this hack, it's purposefully bad. It's so bad, that's it's hilarious.
Tell you what. You can make a hack where sonic says, "I do say Tails, I believe that Napolean has been somewhat jipped in the recent Luisiana purchase." To which Tails may retort soem whitt punchline, such as, "Sonic, obviously Napolean needed a hand, he's likely short on cash.
I DEFY the lot of you. Make an honestly funny hack using high-brow humor. Not playing around with a game's programming or layout.
Or, cite one, in the history of ROM hacking.

Hey, we seriously need to lighten up. "I don't like this style of ROM hack" is ok. Everyone is entitled to their oppinion. Everyone here is allowed to think that my work is complete shit, as I'm allowed to think the same for theirs. (Of course I don't, everyone here is fairly talented). However, this is the internet. Many people want to offend. It's perfectly fine for people to be outright lewd, slanderous, and offensive, and it's fine to call, or my work, dirty names, etc.
I know it sounds ironic coming from a man who just made a hack with "XD BOOBIES" in it, but the lot of you have a good deal of growing up to do.

It's Sonic Advance 3 for the GBA. It's been out for awhile now. I don't have the rom so I can't make any comments yet. |

Maybe we all need to stop and think that not everyone likes the same type of humor. Take Napoleon Dynamite for instance. You either laughed your ass off at it, or you just plain hated it. That's what I see here in this thread. Either you think it's some funny stuff, or you think that's it's the most retarded hack to come since Super DARRK World.
From the screens, it looks a bit humorous to me. I suppose I would check it out, because everyone needs a break from the seriousness that most people put into hacks these days. |
