SIDology Episode 3: Apex Ultima

Download for great justice and for the SIDmetal cause!

Brownie points to anyone who can name all the covered tracks in "SIDology Episode 3: Apex Ultima".

Cryosleep

The seminal cryosleep shows what effect SID can have in a modern song.

Soundtrack to the Rebelion

The wonderful "Soundtrack to the Rebelion". A good example of Machinae's brilliant vocalist.

Anyway, pretty much any music from Ys is begging for the metal touch, though a lot of it is already in that style.

For the original stuff, theres a Jazz album out from ages long before. I found it on this old FTP a while ago, but its worth a shot to search for if that's your cup of tea. For the later stuff, theres an AMAZING album of F-Zero X music (apropriately titled F-Zero X Guitar Arranged Edition) that has versions of the game's music done by this incredibly talented Japanese metal group. The drummer is absolutly insane, I might add. DEFINATLY worth a listen, even if you aren't a fan of X. I garuntee you, it'll make you one.

You will LOVE Protricity's Brainsick Metal song. If you haven't heard it yet, that is. It's amazing, my favorite part is the segment with Spark Mandrill's level theme.

I didn't think the Black Mages were that bad, but I didn't find the second album to be as good as the first personally.
Brainsick Metal is <3 . Specially the Storm Eagle's song part. (love that song)
You should listen to Mega Driver's Storm Eagle remix, wich imo is the best Storm Eagle remix ever.

I really liked the Seymour Battle remix in Black Mages. A lot better than the original.

Mega Man music. With the awesome Wily Stage metal remix made by SSH, I have no doubt that megaman = metal.
That and most MegaMan X songs look like metal. A great example is Armored Armadillo's stage. The guitar solo is pure power metal .

Look up an album called "The Black Mages II - The Skies Above". It has rock and roll remixes of Mayota's Cave, the Four Fiends, the Zeromus Battle and Other World sung by a woman, the lyrics however, are still inadible.

It has some other remixes, no remix of One Winged Angel though.

Kazaa screwed up my computer badly, I use Soulseek to find Mario, FF7 music of course and Zelda music because Soulseek has no ads.

I counter your FF7 music with FF8.

The Donkey Kong Country Series, Final Fantasy 3 (6), Kirby's Dreamland 3, Samurai Warriors.
All that music just plain owns.

The Minibosses have done a nice Mega Man 2 medley, as well.

The Super Smash Bros. Melee has been orchestrated and sounded really great! I imagine the same would for for such titles as Zelda.
