Mini-B USB cords are what the PSP uses. You buy them seperately for like really cheap at CompUSA and other computer parts stores. But, if the dude just wants to use the systems he already has, I'm pretty sure X-Box has more than plently emulators out there. The X-Box is a hackers paradise.

I think he is looking to use what he already has...not to buy something new--although, how would one connect data to the PSP? there are usb (or firewire) ports on it?

Well, I think there are some X-Box SNES emulators that you can download.
My favorite type of console on console emulation is systems that you can just plug-in, download your files, and play them. This works with like Pocket PCs, PSPs, ect.
The third option is for things like GBA and DS. You gotta buy flash carts that you can then hook up to the computer then insert into your DS/GBA.

If you want my opinion, buy a PSP. Super NES emulation on it is improving by the second.

Hot console-on-console action.

DC you can just burn an emu to CDR (not sure about RW) and play it, if you get the right bootcode. I don't really know how it all works, but there's some backdoor that lets you boot it without a mod.

The new slim PS2s, you can use a swap trick on. Old ones you'll need a mod for, though I think if you can find someone else with a modded system, you can use it to put a program on your memory card which acts as a softmod.

XBox, you can softmod, but then you can't use Live. A real modchip would probably be better though.

GCN is the only system you can't softmod (you can run code without a mod, but there's no way short of a real modchip to boot burned discs). Last I checked there was a semi-working modchip available; it enables a 'swap trick', but you still need a real disc to boot up with. Because of how long it took for a real mod (before that, you had to get the original PSO and a BBA, and upload your code, which would be really tedious for development) I don't think there's much available emulation-wise. (You can probably hack your own ROMs into Nintendo's emulators on games like the Zelda bonus disc, but they don't support a whole lot.)

Also, PSX can do NES emulation pretty good, and even the most recent models (not sure about PSone) have the swap trick. I use it on mine when I don't want to dig out a real NES.

DC Emulation is a good place, to get Emus for DC, also the very good DreamSNES.

It works like a charm with older and newer DCs, just burning the CD, for best results, you ought to get DiscJugler or Nero.

For GameCube, you may get your hand on a ProActionReplay and a SD-Card adaptor, and presto, all your homebrewing needs are almost fullfilled.

Without mods, PS2 and XBox are probably out of the question (PS2 for sure but i dunno about XBox). As for Dreamcast, shoudln't be a problem. Just need a disc that can boot.

Can anyone tell me how this works? None of my systems are modded, in case that's important. I'm most interested in SNES games. From my experience, Xbox can read both CD-R and CD-RW. PS2 won't do either. I dunno about GC or DC. That's for music, what about applications? I know revisions can change what a system will do (as in DC's hidden boot code). So, here's the info for them. GC: launch, DC: launch, Xbox: 2/2005, PS2: model 50001. Of course, they're NTSC (U). Anything to get Super Metroid and Panel de Pon onto a TV set!
