Thanks for the suggestions. You know, I never noticed the EE song on the site. It was a test I did for web design class a couple of years ago.

I started making this hack in 2003, and then I don't think anyone had used the name Super Mario World 3. I'll think of something better.

As for the Screens, let me explain a couple things.

In the Hill Valley level, the dirt patch that looks out of place is a quicksand patch. There is a message box in front of it that lets you know about a "secret" if you fall down this area.... Let me know ways to make this look more like quicksand.

Secret Death Zone: What shadow? I don't see what you are talking about. Oh, and this level is modeled after the last level of Cosmo's Cosmic adventure (a DOS game) so if anyone has played that game, you know what's at the bottom...

Sunken Glacier: Thanks for the tip about the clouds underwater. I never noticed those. (Although if you think about it, there shouldn't be snowmen underwater either, but that's the fun of videogames.) The water is a swimming pool right before the ice castle.

Toy Clones: I purposely made the Goombas look like Mario because in this level, Bowser made toy soldier Mario's to attack Mario by confusing him. They don't have hats mostly because they didn't fit on the Goomba sprite. The GFX were ripped from Megaman 1 for the NES.

Speaking of graphics, I still need some help making tiles and stuff for my Dessert world (World 4). I have a Root beer river, Cupcake level, cookie level, etc. so if anyone can help, please do! My request has been in the ExGFX workshop for a long time, and noone has helped!

Thank you and keep the suggestions coming!

Well...it definately needs work . I like the plot, though. Very nice.

Screen 1 - I looks a bit scrunched, for both objects and sprites. Also, that dirt to the left won't do.

Screen 2 - Acceptable.

Screen 3 - Seems okay, game-wise, except for the lava. The top part and the bottom part's colors don't match. It looks...not good.

Screen 4 - Missing edges, upside down lava, plants OVER the lava - no, it's not good. Sorry.

Screen 5 - Looks kind of hard. Might want to get rid of either the chuck or the plant. And definately get rid of the bush.

Screen 6 - That palatte is terrible. Don't you agree? Otherwise, I can't really judge on the level. I just hope there's a lot more to it than that fall.

Screen 7 - It's kind of hard to see with all of that blue. Though, I have to say, I like those snowmen and the snowball. Are they rexs?

Screen 8 - Looks good. I think that jump is a bit hard, though.

Screen 9 - Um...it seems okay.

Screen 10 - Same.

Screen 11 - This one looks quite good, actually. I like the palaca design thing.

Screen 12 - NICE idea for the toy clones. If they're enemies, then I see why you couldn't have the top of the hat included. Also, if they are enemies, it might be a little hard to defeat them all or escape - there's so many!

Well, I see that the main problems with this hack are simple things, like forgetting edges to platforms, or having a bad palette choice. Just make the levels look complete, and you'll make this game SO much better.

Nice storyline. Comments on the pics:

Top: Looks good, but "Bowser's Time Attack" is hard to read, given that it's made of very similar shades of blue placed on a blue background.

1: Plant coming out of the ground = bad. Missing top of ground, corner doesn't connect properly, and clouds on the ground.

2: Good. The big clouds look like they're in the FG (are they?) but I'm not sure what you can do about that.

3: The mud doesn't look right, after the top tiles is just one solid colour.

4: The palettes are burning my eyes, there's upside-down mud (though properly set up this time) stuck next to dirt, no ground edge at the right on the bottom, and the plants are flying.

5: Glitched bush which shouldn't even be in the water, no top on the ground.

6: More really bad colours.

7: Still bad colours including the status bar. BG showing through the FG looks confusing and crappy, especially near the sign. Why all the blue ? blocks?

8: BG showing through FG again.

9: Too bright, again with the BG.

10: Same thing as 9.

11: Top looks glitchy. WTF is that at the right?

12: Cool. The Marios should have a different palette, though, so you can tell them apart easier.

I personally am not overly impressed with the work you have shown. There are many palette errors and out of place objects, such as the upside-down lava, ledges without edges, and bushes in the water. I think you need to work out some of your palettes and make sure all your objects are positioned correctly, then I think it will look a lot better. Even if your levels design is kick-ass, all those errors will definitely take away from that.

By the way, just curious, how come your site has the theme song to "Early Edition"? Is that actually some other song from somewhere else?

Most of those screens were glitched and hurt my eyes. Nice concept but still needs work.

it looks good except for the upside down lava out of place and a lot of palette errors, why do so many people have palette errors?!?!

I think these look great. Why those mini-mario`s dont have hats?
Are they some kind of enemies?

I love the storyline!!!
It's the best one I've seen yet.

I have some suggestions on the levels:
SS(screenshot)1:The dirt looks out-of place.
Try making a new tile, probably using the already-in-game tiles.

SS2;I like it. But the clouds in the BG could be a littel bit expanded more.

SS3:I like the Idea, but the lava palette should be changed.(like SS4)
And the pipe should be sticking up at least one more 16x16.

SS4: Problem with palettes.
The ground should be a little darkened a bit.
The lava is nice here.

SS5:The grass GFX's transparent place should be water-colored.
It ruins the whole screen.

SS6:I love the idea. Looking nice
But what's up with the long shadow(?) on the wall?(in the FG)
And the spike's palette could be lightened a little more, or else it's unnoticible.

SS7:Let's fill in the arrow sign.(like SS5)

SS8:Good. Looks challenging

SS9:Yup. There shouldn't be clouds underwater...

SS10:W00t!

SS11:W00t/2... Where's Mario's hat?

Overall, it looks very nice. There are many great part in it, but there are some mistakes that should be fixed.
If they are fixed, combined with the storyline, it will be a great one like SMO

Keep it up!

Yeah, it looks pretty good, but cup 'o' sea and the lgacier BG need to be fixed. I don't remember clouds being underwater...

Most of the screens looked pretty nice, however, most there needs to be worked on a bit more... Like "World 2 - Piranha Islands" and "World 2 - Cup O' Sea". Other than that, the hack looks decent. Could be a bit better, though.

I like your storyline. Can't wait for the hack to be released. All the screenshots were good except for the last one because you can barely see Mario's hat and the other copies. Other than that, it looks like a great game.

Hi! I haven't been around here for a LONG time, but I made a SMW hack a long time ago, and only recently blew the dust off of it to look at it.

I probably won't be releasing it, as it's not done, but please look at the screens on this page and tell me what you think.

Thanks!
