Oh, so it could be a possibility?
Plus you have the new Gunstar Heroes game being made for the GBA, no? Good tie-in... |

Haha, Gunstar Heroes would actually stand a chance at making it over here on the disc. Traveller's Tales, as far as I know, still has a deal cut with Sega on developing games. Not only that, but if Sega pays attention to the word on the grapevine, they should know how ridiculously huge Gunstar Heroes' fanbase is. I play the Genesis version with my friends on a regular basis and emulate it all the time, so it wouldn't really affect me much to not see it on the disc, but it'd still be an awesome addition. |

Hey, there you go. The whole thing's probably a bunch of emulators running on the GCN. Just get a modchip and hack the music/games back in! |

Comix Zone looks less realistic/more comic-y than SoR I suppose? :\
Oh well. Be thankful you have emulation. |

Yes, yes it is.
Also you can mod your Gamecube to switch between US/JP easily, or if you're not into that, Freeloader and I think Action Replay can override the region lockout. |

It's just sad.
Is Comix Zone not at the level of violence that SoR games are? Sure seems the same to me, yet Sonic Mega Collection still got an E rating (the PS2 and Xbox versions had Comix Zone).
Plus, SoR is old, look at games these days and it hardly even looks that violent. There isn't even any blood.
Then you've got games like Zelda, which you cut enemies up with swords, and they're rated E?
So yeah, my point being ... this is just retarded. |

I thought I had read a while ago that the Streets of Rage games would be exclusive to Japan. Vectorman isn't a BAD replacement at all but it would have been nice to see Sega pull a few strings and get Gunstar Heroes on there.
I think SoR would run a RISK of getting a teen rating but if they just rule it's "Animated Violence" and "Comic Mischief" then it should get an E. |

What about http://www.play-asia.com/?
My friend just showed me that site, but I'll have to check lik-sang.com out.
And yeah, I noticed I'll need a freeloader ... ugh.
Well I may as well get it now or never. |

Lik-Sang.com, and Freeloader boot disk. That's about it for imporing Gamecube games. |

This utterly pisses me off.
Streets of Rage games replaced - IGN
As for the reason Sega decided to replace Streets of Rage, the company confirmed it was to avoid the "T," or teen rating. Of course, going with the two Vectorman games will keep Sonic Gems Collection firmly in the "E," or everyone, side of things.

This is just stupid if you ask me. Streets of Rage would make the game Teen? Ugh. And yeah, Vectorman is a great replacement ... but, I already own both of those for the Genesis, and Streets of Rage is just totally fun with friends.
And this doesn't really upset me, but it's been said that the US version of Sonic Gems will only contain the US soundtrack to Sonic CD.
But, with the Japanese disc ... you get the original Sonic CD soundtrack (obviously) and the Streets of Rage games.
I've decided I'll probably get both versions, since I personally enjoyed the US OST to Sonic CD, I'd still like to play it with the real soundtrack, and I absolutely want the SoR games no matter what.
So, I have a few questions: - Where can you buy imported games? - Do I need to modify my GC in any way to play Japanese games? |
