Ack! Everything seemed fine until I got to the order form... My only shipping option is same-day UPS delivery, $100 US. Even if I could afford that, I can't see myself paying it. |

Well HH, if you are asking if I have ordered anything from zip zoom fly yes I have ordered a new PCCHIPS motherboard from them along with a ATI all in wonder TV tuner card for both of those items the motherboard costed me 29.99 for MB and the video card costed me 50 bucks so I paid a totall of 79.99 and since I live in the US I didn't have to pay for shipping due to the sale of the items that they had, plus they ship your items very quickly
But if your ordering from canada the shipping rates may be a little bit higher do to you living there and not the US but thats just how the way they operate.
I would recommend trying them first and see what will happen. They shouldn't BS you about the shipping at least they didn't do that to me.

I like the sound of this zipzoomfly place. Have you ever actually ordered from there? My mom now insists on buying everything from a real physical store, even though the only options for that are Radio Shack/Circuit City (helloooo overcharge) or spending 100 bucks just to get to a store that might have reasonable prices. |

Because it is company policy...their faq says
Newegg.com does not currently ship internationally; we only deliver to locations within the United States and to Puerto Rico. |

If I were you HH, I would try Pricewatch.com and I'm sure that they have what your looking for. keep in mind though that pricewatch will give you a list of computer stores and manufacturing companys that are selling this stuff not pricewatch but it does come at a cheaper price.

As for places to get stuff from, I'm really not sure as I don't order my stuff online. I get my things wholesale; so it's a whole different thing (and wholesalers are known to screw you around just as much as it sounds like Tigerdirect are screwing you around...) |

Well this is the second time I've had to change my order at tigerdirect.ca because their items keep going from 'in stock' to 'not available' without any notice whatsoever. (And not just 'waiting for new shipment', rather 'we don't sell that anymore'.) I keep having to downgrade CPUs because the ones I want are suddenly becoming unavailable, and anything better would mean a better motherboard, which is going to put me way over budget. Does anyone have any advice on ordering from them, or know a better place that will ship to Canada and accepts cheques or money orders? (Canadians use computers too, dammit. *shakes fist at Newegg*)
In case it helps, what I'm looking at is an AMD CPU, somewhere around 2ghz, and 256MB of RAM or more. (The items in particular are M452-2522, M56-4901 and CP1-SEM2400 C, and I have about $310 Canadian to spend, including all shipping and taxes and crap.) If I can get a more powerful system for that price, maybe this wouldn't be such a big issue, but I can't see that happening. |
