Three days, no bump. You're clear there.

And people do this because it's interesting, funny or whatever strange but otherwise valid reason they have.

I have a question.

Why make an editor for final fantasy 6 when their are programs like RPG maker 2000, 2003 and XP?

All of which can be DL from various places.

And Rpg maker XP can be used to make an exact clone of final fantasy 6.

It is just a question though.

Also i did not think it was to late for this thread to be bumped.

What features does it have over Lord J's editor?

Yes, that the one I'm talking about.... I wish someone will finish it since I think it gonna be a best editor for FFVI.

FFVI Rebirth was made by RuneLancer, he can occasionally be found (along with the original thread for it) over at Mnrogar's message boards. It has been discontinued for now, as he has for the most part quit ROM Hacking to seek other pursuits.

Yousei's other FF6 editor is indeed unreleased at this time, and he goes by the name Fobby or something similar these days. He posted some pics of it over at Zophar's message domain quite awhile back, and it did look impressive, but still remains vaporware.

Rebirth was available for awhile, and I think I still have a beta version of it on my harddrive somewhere, though it didn't do anything too spectacularly different from the current batch of FFVI editors available today.

Rebirth's official thread link:
http://www.mnrogar.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=61&highlight=rebirth

Don't bother bumping that thread of course, it's discontinued and quite an old thread. It would be best to just email or PM RuneLancer about it if you have any questions.

[edit]
Well, I found the old editor in the depths of my hard drive, and It's pretty cool, I had forgotten completely about it. O_o

I believe he's referring to Yousei's other FF6 editor. as in, the one that was actually able to edit more than just the world map (also the one that was never released).

It wouldn't be too hard for someone to make one. The full source to Yousai's FF6 editor is publically available.

I think I recall reading that Geiger's Peer Sprite Viewer supported FF6's format though... you may want to look into it.

I'm just hoping that FuSoYa can find a way to implement the compression algorithms from the game into Lunar Compress...I know he did crack one of the Secret of Mana formats and he cracked another Squaresoft LZ format used for basically all compressed data in Chrono Trigger, Bahamut Lagoon and Radical Dreamers, but neither of those work for FF6 (or for most non-title SoM data, SD3, FF4, FF5, etc.)

I think it's pretty safe to assume that it won't be coming out. It's been years since I last heard anything about it.

Ah thanks... I hope it will shed some light because I've seen screenies of it and looks really cool.

I know which one you mean, I saw a few screenshots of it (years ago now), and it seemed to be coming along pretty well.

Whatever happened to it, I don't know..
