*DarkSlaya removes live CD from CD-rom drive. Then saves working size picture (because the details are more beautiful that way. Then reboots with live CD.

Added a Not Safe For Work warning, although I think all the other warnings implied that as well anyways.
Hmm, and I'm wondering if the whole "Batman" thing has to do do with the way I've tried to put the moonlight on her back... that was fun to do I initially thought about having her almost entirely silhouetted except for the moonlightey bits -- I wanted to downplay the nudity -- but then I realised that then I'd have to sacrifice the detail in the face too.... |

The topic made me laugh for no apparent reason. 
This picture is awesome. Makes me feel inferior with my poor attempts at drawing (lol @ sketch thread) 
One noticable thing about this is that you didn't exactly resemble Chalo's style (who, just like you used to, seems to have a leaning towards more bright, "upbeat" colouring), but you did so in an absolutely positive way.

I like how you put the glow in her eyes. She looks about ready to decapitate someone! Or at least she looks like she decapped someone.

It's simple awesome, I don't find anything to critize in the picture. It's almost too good. Hell, I want that picture on my wall as a poster, if it wasn't naked. :3

Well, this is a picture I've been working on since April, on and off.
The character is "Kate" and she belongs to Chalosan. The character is a samurai, with a violent past. I thought it might be fun to draw a little of that dark past.
Linework would've taken me about 2 days, on and off tweaking of the original linework.
Coloring took around 17 hours, and was done in openCanvas.
I seldom work with colors this dark/muted, so this was a little bit of a challenge for me. I will not be correcting anything in this piece, it took me too long and I'm done with it now.
And for all those people who said "you'd never see Tarale drawing any blood or anything dark" (and yes, people HAVE said that on this forum), a big fat  to you.
EDIT: And here it is on deviantart too for anybody who is interested. I posted it there last night, as I couldn't get to the board at that time (dns issue). |
