That's a problem... :| But nothing impossible to trick.
I change the enemies attributes to something I'd like to place in a room. For example, the Samus' ship room (Crateria) has a few "arrows" and a "S" (speed boost related) - I simply move these objects to a certain location & change their IDs / attributes.

Hmm... about changing the pointers... If I add 1 enemy, how many bytes does it require?

That's odd. Maybe my version of SMILE is old (v0.3); I can't seem to find that menu command. Thanks anyway, though... I have a better understanding and will fiddle around with it a bit more.

EDIT: Oh, I totally missed that you were the author the first time I read that post. This is really a great editor, you did good work.

Edit --> Special --> Enemy/PLM (+/-)

Keep in mind though that nothing comes for free. You can add enemies and plm's, but SMILE does not change the pointers for you. You will overwrite pre-existing data unless you move your data around . . . SMILE's pointer editor helps you move things around, but you need to identify "free" spots yourself.

I've been playing around with SMILE for a while now, but there's one thing that I can't figure out. How do you add/create sprites (enemies, powerups, etc.)? Is it even possible, or can you only edit pre-existing ones? I looked at that online help page and it wasn't very useful.
