If you are going to convert VB6 to VB .NET, the best way is to do it by hand. As Leno said, the built-in auto conversion thing sucks donkey balls. (ok, he didn't say exactly that, but it is the jist of what he said) |

From my experiences, converting from 6 -> .NET isn't a good idea. I wound up having to restart two projects from converting, including one I'm working on right now, and for really stupid reasons. It did not like the new code at all. I guess there are some settings or lines of code in the project that the converted to version didn't like. Keep that in mind, at least. |

I just learned VB this year, so it may not be pretty, but it loads fast, so I guess it is ok. |

It does not look like I will be doing any more work on this editor. I am wondering if anyone would be interested in picking it up?
As of now the editor supports level editing, and dana/key/door editing. The only thing needed to be added is enemy and items editing.
I can tell you where enemies are stored, how they are stored, and where the pointers are. I can tell you where item data is stored as well.
If anyone is interested in picking up this project, please reply.
If you want to see the current editor, it is here: http://www.neohjuggalos.com/skedit2.0.zip
BTW, it is written in VB6, and I will hand over all of the source files I have. |
