It wasn't a port, it was a complete remake which had almost nothing to do with the original. It was set in feudal Japan. It was made by THQ, and we all know how good their games are.

They also remade Altered Beast for GBA, but that one was actually pretty decent and was a lot more faithful to the original. They even kept the classic voices, though they were re-recorded to better suit the overall B-movie atmosphere.

Contra Force for NES, I guess it would be twice as good if it weren't for the unbearable slowdown. I can't believe Treasure made this.
Revolution X was the epitome of bad, gimmicky motion-capture games
Fallout: Brotherhood of Steel was an unforgivable disgrace to the series
Revenge of Shinobi for GBA was a bastardization of the best ninja franchise ever

Another failed GBA port? Revenge of Shinobi was an incredible game, but I guess the GBA port sucked?

Well doesn't surprise me, the Donkey Kong Country GBA ports are horrible too.

Um... which version?

Because if you say "SNES/Genesis", there's at least one admin here who would be more than happy to dispute that point.

I never had a problem with the camera either, nor with the game.

I understand why it might not be every Mario fan's cup of tea, but it wasn't *bad* or anything. Just different.

(And come on... the classic levels rocked. )

Those were fun, but considering you actually had to PLAY the game (oh my) to get to them, I only played about 2 or 3 of those.

I really didn't enjoy that game at all myself.

I tought Super Mario Sunshine's camera was GREAT.

I just can't understand why people think the camera sucks... maybe becease they forget that they can change the camera's angle at (almost) any time.

Anyway...

Well, I tried Mario Sunshine again. I figured maybe my controller was messed or something. Surely it couldn't have been as bad as I remembered?

....Worse. I forgot all about the horrible camera, and just how am I supposed to fight when 3 of these little blobs appear EVERY SECOND?

Especcially that heap of turd that is Home Alone for NES. Running around the two screen large house avoiding the two enemies for 15 minutes is the entire game? The fuck?

Okay, imagine an RPG. Now take out all the good elements, such as interesting characters, neat abilities, good graphics, and variation in gameplay. Got it? Okay.

Now take Bomberman. Once again, remove all the good elements, such as the frantic gameplay, cool powerups, catchy music, and interesting stages.

Combine those, throw in a Pokemon ripoff, and you've got Bomberman Tournament for the GBA. It's like they decided on the best ways to immediately bore people.

Programmer 1: Hey, I've got a good idea! Let's make it so Bomberman moves really slow, can only place two bombs, and doesn't have any special moves!
Programmer 2: Brilliant! While you're at it, make the menu system awkward and annoying. Oh, and add some mindless levelling that only applies to your useless monsters, yet is required to finish the game.
Programmer 1: Will do. Oh, do you mind if I make it so saving is impossible in a level, and if you die you have to restart at the last town, even though it took you 15 minutes to get there?
Programmer 2: No, go ahead. In fact, you should also make saving unnecessarily annoying. Make it so every time you save, it asks you if you want to shut down the game and starts on the "yes" option so you'll accidentally hit it.
Programmer 1: Good idea. Now excuse me while I strangle some kittens.

This game sucks, if you can't tell. I hate it, and I hope it dies.

Dokapon for the GBA is worse though. Rock Paper Scissors and RPGs don't go together, damnit.'

Hydlide is strangely addictive. And damnit, I like Lagoon.

I don't really, but I thought GE was particularly bad. I liked Duke Nukem 64 though.

Worst game I ever played? Yoshi Cookie GB! I wanted to break it with a hammer that game was so stupid! It would be so much fun if the AI was not so cheap. And I mean VERY cheap! It is, literaly, impossible to win without the highest handicap set (where you would win in about 3 moves )

Ugh, just try to find a game with non-cheap AI. The main reason I've given up on Mario Party is that its AI is just so freaking cheap. (Good for multiplayer though. ) Puzzle games are the worst because they like to do impossible things, in many cases even moving faster than a human physically can. They're getting better but there's still a lot of them.

Alright, careful not to get into any flamewars here, people. I should've said that long ago. Still, I'll let this thread live, so long as it doesn't turn into a bunch of people repeating the same games or a bunch of arguing. In other words, kindly shut up about Superman 64, we get the point already.

I'm going with a game that seems to do quite a few things right, yet still remains boring as hell - it's the best I can do, since I'm good at avoiding shitty games. Top Gear for the SNES.

Let's start with the good points. The graphics weren't bad, and the four different cars did perform differently enough. Track designs were varied, and that's about all.

Now for the bad. How many songs did that game have? Six. Total. Thirty-two tracks (or was it twenty-eight?) to race on, yet only six songs in the game. And only four were used in races. And turning? Hah! Some turns you can go through just driving completely straight without touching left or right, while others that aren't much sharper have you running into signposts even when you hit the brakes.

And there's one big WTF in the game that I simply must address. What the HELL is the point of the purple car? It goes through fuel faster than the blue one, and turns worse, yet doesn't go faster.

Superman 64 is the absolute worst.
Big Rigs is bad but it doesn't qualify as a game.

Superman 64 the story just doesn't add up: Superman gets sucked into a virtual world where he has to do missions (?) and beating up thugs which can kill him so easily. Superpowers you say? You have to collect them and you Dont have them for very long. The camera was just plain HORRIBLE. The graphics were sickening. There was "Fog" blocking all view because the game didnt have the game engine to render all the graphics! Then theres the controls.....

i'm gonna have nightmares tonight.

Saga Frontier. No contest. I kept on playing it to see if it would get any better, but no. It just dragged on and on. I don't know HOW MANY GODDAMN times I had to go in that dinosaur's belly and out again, but it was certainly hard and stupid. I did own, though. Mad combos. But the terrible graphics and music and spells and shit outweighed my interest. Oh and Turok Evolution sucked pretty bad too.
