But yeah, X-Play is the last stand. Adam Sessler almost got fired when TechTV was getting bought out .. that would have been horrible.
I hate how they got rid of the original disembodied voice though, the new ones suck. =\ |

X-Play is the only reason to watch that channel anymore.
Once the old shows started getting worse, then I stopped watching it altogether.
I mean, come on! Screensavers was awesome when they actually HELPED a lot more than they just showed stuff. AOTS just isn't good compared to the Screensavers.
And this show: desparate attempt for ratings that won't exist. |

Seriously, though. G4 ate TechTV. Then, after they shit it out, they shit ON it. All that remains is X-Play. AOTS does not count. |

It was no "merger" at all, obviously. How long did the "G4TechTV" banner last? Maybe a month? It's just G4 now, Tech TV is gone. |

G4 here doesn't have anime. The reason for that is because originally the channel came here as TechTV Canada, and their license didn't mention anime. Therefore they have to black it out and replace it with other programming.
Channels are pretty much the same aside from the anime thing and the fact that Call For Help still airs in Canada. |

And no. Actually, I'm pretty sure from what I heard from some of the last "real" Screensavors episodes, the owner of Tech TV spent like 30 million or something on a "Public Space Program" that allows people to fly into space. After that, apparently he was losing hold of the channel so G4 just bought them out. and took a shit on them.
That's at least, what I can remember hearing.
Then they "merged".

Last year I watched it, and I think KOTOR II won like 12 Categories. Yeah, it's a great game, but it got old after it won 2. Besides that, it was a waste of time. I could really careless what the general videogame communtiy likes, Halo 2 is far more popular than Half-Life 2, while as Half-Life 2 is easily the much better game (just an example).
Valcion: Yeah, another thing they got from Tech TV. I'm glad they kept it, but it's been awhile since they've shown something worth watching like Gungrave and Magical Shopping Arcade Abenaboshi. Meh. |

I don't really see the point of this at all... I mean, not only is it obvious filler, but it's not exactly helping the image of the game industry AND it's meant to fulfill fantasies of uber-nerds everywhere. :\
Watch the ratings be high considering G4's other programming.  |

Really? When I think videogame vixens, I think Jade (MKD), which was the only reason I could think of for watching this thing.
I saw some clips of the show. Not much to it, really, which is probably another reason why you don't know what G4 is, Ailure. |

Yeah, actually, I think that's pretty much the point of the show. Kinda reminds me of something I read in Game Informer, about the stereotype of gamers being a bunch of 'losers who'd give their left arm to see a naked woman.', or something to that effect. |

well...I like AOTS better then the old screensavers...but really, I only saw about 2 months of it because I didnt get the channel until we went to digital cable, but I can sure say its a good show. |

Well compare Attack of the Show, to what it used to be, The Screensavors.
They completely buried The Screensavors, and the whole point behind it.
Whenever I see Attack of the Show now, all it seems to be is "Here's funny stuff on the internet", and that's about it.
