Those screens do look better, how long have you been working on this hack Imajin?

Alright, so the mountain looks bad. I agree with you about the battle window areas (They're actually a leftover from the earliest beginnings of this version Fortuna Fantasy, which had, among other things, a Southgate with a flat bottom, and a desert world map)

The Town Tileset. Note that I think the tiling of the dirt and the like doesn't look great, but the Town tileset is literally a mess, as rather than most sets when I deleted most of the old, here I tried to work with the old set... It might be better for me to simply scrap it and restart it.
This city is called Westgate. There is a wall surrounding it, though you can't see it in the picture.

The oldest tileset in the game, the ice mountain cave. This area was originally a second world, though now it's simply a massive cave in the north of the world.

Still looking good as ever.
The screenshot with the hills and bridges: It all looks kinda flat. Mybe you could vary a bit the mountain tiles so it doesn't look too much flat...
The battle window borders too...

Very nice. The mountain area looks crappy though, and some of the font's not changed but it's overall good. Floating, 3D-looking islands totally pwn FF1's flat world.

The top screenshot is kinda bland, most notably the grass. Perhaps on the topright of the shot (where the cliffs go |_ repeatedly) you could use the tiles that have a black line going up it so that it looks less flat...

Adding a few colored pixels to the ground would help give it some texture, and perhaps skewing the cliff edges slightly would also help in the case of flatness.

I didn't even think you were still working on it

I remember these pics back in the days, people in TEK went crazy for these shots. Keep at it kiddo.

Yes, the hack that I basically abandoned awhile ago is (possibly) revived... It shocks me how little I've really finished in this hack (tilesets, most of the levels, almost all of the characters)...

Wee, link. It's Angelfire, so try to ignore the banners.

(Oh, and please don't inform me that Angelfire sucks... You see, I know that already )
