I've owned a Gamecube pretty much since launch date and it runs great...

Are you sure it's not just stopping because it can't read the disc? Turn it on and open it up after like half a second to one second, it should be spinning then. If not then yeah, your motor's toast.

Shame it's not so easy to trick a Gamecube into running with the lid open, then you could just watch it start.

I believe if it's under warranty, yes; if not, you'd have to pay whatever the service/labor fee is.

Well uh can't you send it in the be fixed by Nintendo? I haven't ever had any problems with my systems though so don't flame me if this isn't possible. XD

Yeah, my friend had this problem too. He eventually had to buy a new Gamecube.

The motor that spins the disc either has juice/something sticky (no comment) in it or it has burned out. This occurs a lot in GameCubes and is not an uncommon problem. Either get a whole new drive or get the little tiny motor that spins the disc. You might be better off getting a broken GameCube off of Ebay.

As it were, I own a silver Nintendo Gamecube, which has not been working as of late.
I have attempted to clean said Gamecube's laser, however, this has not produced results.
I believe that the Gamecube is not spinning the disk, as when I open the disk drive, the disk is not spinning. Is this possible to repair at home, or should I get it repaired elsewhere?
