And I know from experience, taking out a Banshee without rockets is a pain. Especially on Ascention, because they can just shoot you from a distance and there's nothing you can do about it
You should have played Halo PC.
Banshee's also had the secondary Plasma Launcher attack that could kill you in one hit on impact, they were probably twice as strong compared to Halo 2's, and well it's based off of Halo, no lock-on ability with rocket launchers.
Pain in the ass. |

WOW DUAL ELITES ARE THE BEST
It's always me and my Magnums, to the end. I've taken out a Banshee from halfway across Coagulation with those. |

I just hated the Banshee altogether. At least it wasn't as cheap as the Halo PC version though ...
But yeah, the 'lock-on' feature with the Rocket Launchers was just stupid if you ask me. I think it should have only been allowed agains't Banshee's, but then again ... Banshee's just sucked completely. |

Sniper whores just sweep shot now. At least driving someone over takes SOME skill. |

Addressing Halo 2 stuff:
Rocket launchers in multiplayer need to die. Seriously. Then again, without those, vehicle whores would be pains in the ass... I think that could be handled with a Sniper Rifle, Beam Rifle, or (if those are unavailable) Battle Rifle from a high place.
Energy swords have the very simple Plasma Grenade counter, which is easy to do because active camo doesn't hide the sword and it has to get close to do anything. Still irritating, but not so much as Rocket Whores.
Vehicles and Grenades: Uh, I think Plasmas still do something to them... or at least to the driver... and if not, there's the Rifles from high spots that most vehicles can't reach. Save for the Banshee, a headshot can still be done to the pilot of any vehicle. The problem is when people move too fast, expecting your head shots, but in bigger games (oh, 4p+) they should be occupied with other matters... |

I do prefer Halo 1 over Halo 2.
They both have major balance issues, but me and my friends know ways around that. |

I think that both games were excellent and did what they needed to do:
Halo 1 made split-screen and LAN games great fun, which opened the door for Halo 2 in conjuction with XBox Live. |

I can honestly say that the first Halo didnt frustrate me 1/4th as much as Halo 2 has, but Halo 1 wasnt online either
Also Ive said this before. Halo 2 is half a freakin game! |

I have to say, this Mark guy and I seem to think alike.
An interesting article with reviewers comparing and contrasting Halo agains't Halo 2 and vice versa, and I think they hit some nice critical points.
I can agree with a lot of what Mark says. I played Halo for 3 years, time and time again a bunch of friends of mine and myself, would all get together to LAN it up with Halo. We've done that only a few times with Halo 2, hardly ever these days.
I'm not saying Halo 2 is anything bad, and I don't want to sound like a whiny fanboy just saying "Halo 2 sucks the 1st is so much better", but seriously, if I had to pick from one of them, I'd easily pick the first one over the 2nd.
If you're a fan of the games, or hate them, or think ones better than the other, the article will probably interest you. |
