I'm not offended at all and I don't have anything against critism, but I don't like the words "bad level design", that's all. Anyway, you haven't seen anything of the updated hack yet and I won't post screenshots until it's finished.

hey hey i was only giving my opinion, sorry if you felt offended, i didnt want to offend you.

what i mean by 'squarish' is that it doesn't have too much variation, seems a bit like a plain ground in most of its parts.

@Aioria: If you think the level design is bad, I don't recommend you to look at some other hacks here, they are just poorly made and not even the palette and OW are good. And about my OW, how can it be squary? It's a rounded, except for the Crystal Mine overworld, just to let you know.

@All: If you don't like my work, you don't have to download the full version, but my hack is far easier to play than those japanese hacks out there and my hack also doesn't have any status bar problems. I also think, that the levels are fun to play, but that's only my opinion, which doesn't count that much.

the graphics are amazing and very well ripped, that intro is perfect, an awesome job.


but the hack isn't fun it lacks level design quality, some levels seem to have been done just to display the exgfx and are very repetitive and contain lots of errors, such as slowdowns, different gfx for same items/enemies/blocks on different levels, "get trapped" areas (there is lots of moments that Mario has to commit suicide because he got trapped on the water and can't reach the top of the pipe), making SMW lava gfx in a level containing already lava from SMW2 :YI looks weird. Did i already mention the BAD level design? Bad use of some tiles, repetitive "challenges" in levels.

Also, there is not a growing difficulty level, and Mario looks out of place in that level you made on Yoshi's House.

The overworld is squarish and follows a similar fashion of SMW's original one in terms of EVENTS. You really didn't change most of the events, and that ice world OW is bland.

A bit inconsistent hack, but has nice exgfx. I still would prefer that this would have been a FUN and consistent hack even if it had only the SMW's gfx.

Anyway, the hack will be finished soon. I only have to finish world 7 and Bowser's Castle.

@FloBo: d4s isn't hacking SMW. I just asked him, if he could do a new intro for me and since I'm german too and we don't have a problem with each other, he made it for me.^^

Well, I didn't know d4s was hacking Mario World (the streaming sound demo left out)... but anyway: Nice looking thing there^^ Great graphics! Especially the BGs. I love them. Also it does seem to have quite a well balanced level of difficulty unlike most of the other crap MarioWorld-hacks out there^^

Looks very promising. Keep it up^^

You don't have to replay them, just use your old save states to begin from where you finished the game, lol.

Wow, it looks really nice, but I have to agree with hhallahh, though, don't really want to replay all 6 worlds. It'd be better to wait for a finished product (with less glitches lol) to play it. It looks really amazing though

When that is still enabled when you release a hack, it counts as a bug.

Well, unless, of course, you intended it to be in there... but I don't see why anyone would want to. And you said yourself that you just forgot to disable it.

Not really, lol. It's just a feature, which you can disable and enable, not a bug.

Sorry for posting in a old topic but I found a bug. If you pause and press select in a level you skip that level and go to the next level.
