I used a table maker, so mistakes like that are not likely. I just have to put the value of Each letter into its box. Then when I'm done I hit generate. I've used it successfully for another NES game before. Being this metal gear is a Konami game could it be that theres some kinda compression or something throwing me off?
Edit: Someone sent me a working MG Table. Im not sure why mine didnt work. Anyway my hack is back on track. |

I always thought it was in the format:
00=A 01=B . . . FF=!
...
So make sure that your table is formatted properly and try again |

Well, I decided to start a Metal Gear NES hack. So far I changed a few graphics, colors, etc. I was gonna jump into text editing but I have run into a problem. I made a table using the letter values I found in the PPU viewer of FCEUXD. And it should work, here it is for others reference:
A - 81 B - 82 C - 83 D - 84 E - 85 F - 86 G - 87 H - 88 I - 89 J - 8A K - 8B L - 8C M - 8D N - 8E O - 8F P - 90 Q - 91 R - 92 S - 93 T - 94 U - 95 V - 96 W - 97 X - 98 Y - 99 Z - 9A 0 - 70 1 - 71 2 - 72 3 - 73 4 - 74 5 - 75 6 - 76 7 - 77 8 - 78 9 - 79 copyright thing - 80
Anyway, When I do text searches it doesn't come up with a single word, I tried searching for Konami, nothing. I even manually scrolled thru the entire rom in the hex editor. ANyone got any clue on how to fix this? |
