Noting the 'circle walker' warriors, Snipes took careful aim with his pistol while moving along, Firing the shot when no-one would be alert to where it came from. Stopping about a metre from the firing zone, Snipes watched their reactions.

Lyrin sees the sword flying toward him...

Lynrin takes out his halberd, not stopping his advance, and aims... and then, as the sword is about to strike, he strikes it with the poisonous blade of his halberd!

Strangely enough, the halberd's blade is surrounded with a dark aura and strikes with seemingly magical properties... but in fact, it is, as Lynrin said, an illusion.

As such, the counter-attack is powerful enough to shatter the blade (if it turns to diamond, it will simply block the attack) and will not power-up the magical black hole further.

During this time, Goldsterd and Killmore walks in circles around their flag for some strange reason...

Rendar seems interested in Lynrin's speech. You do indeed understand... congratulations. He commands his sword to fly at Lynrin, with incredible speed. As it goes forward, it emits a stream of fire, electricity, and arcana behind it that begins to swirl towards the orb. Rendar knows that his opponent will probably block the sword, so he's ready to transmute it into diamond before it is struck, to prevent breaking. For you see, we have not chosen ourselves... Our shape constricts us to magic, yet I have trained with the sword... Perhaps we will make different choices one day. For now, let us revel in the art of battle.

(ooc: 950-50(ambient)-100(sword emissions)=800 more mana needed)

Edit: Let's wait for Darkflight to respond before we continue, k?

Lynrin continue to advanced toward the enemy team...

Lynrin: "Very smart move. Too bad that my team doesn't use magic in combat. We have chosen the Way of the Weapon, believing to entrust our lives into weapons rather than in magic. Just as the magical powers of the greatest mage is the reflection of his souls, the reflection of a grandmaster's soul can be seen in the blade of his weapon. Both paths have their advantages and disadvantages... none is wrong. It's just easy just to flail fireballs about... it's easy to just mindlessly swing your sword about. Becoming a master is another story... and while my halberd seems magical... it is only an illusion."

Lynrin contined to walk toward his opponents, just as slowly as ever.

Lynrin: "Just as you are paving the way for your next attacks... so are we. This will be interesting!"

Rendar moves his sword upwards, and a bolt of lightning from Ketra's ball of ectoplasm strikes it, causing sparks to run up and down the length of the sword. It then returns to Rendar, whose stone is glowing more and more brightly. He's charging up energy for a later attack.

Ketra continues to summon energy into her orb, which becomes an incandescent blue. It charges very slowly, but absorbs all nearby ambient magic. This means several things for the nearby space: First, no magic can be cast, as mana is instantly drained, and that magic directed at or near the orb will be sucked in. It is the magical equivalent of a black hole, but when it is fully charged, it becomes an immense source of mana for the caster. With normal airborne mana, it will charge in 20 turns, but if large attacks occur nearby on a regular basis (i.e., if Rendar is actively fighting), it could charge as quickly as 5 turns.

(ooc: 950 more mana units until mana orb is complete.)

This time, Lyrin moved away from the flag, alone.

He was advancing, all alone, toward his opponents' flag while Goldsterd and Killmore remained behind.

Lynrin *thinks* It doesn't matter how hard they try. They will not be able to stop my advance... even if it's a slow one. Slow and steady... it's how I will take the flag this time!

Hah, this game will be even more interesting... thought Rendar to his team. He took his sword out of the ground, using the energy it had gathered to cause the blade to be covered it flames. In no time, it was red-hot, and before it melted, Rendar transmuted it into mithril.

Ketra began to summon a ball of black ectoplasm, it appearing in the sky above her. It would take time to finish this technique, but she knew that Rendar could deal with the other team. While the others were fighting, the ball would continue to grow.

(ooc: This is fun! Ketra is happy!)

'Hmm. A differnt strategy. I wonder if I can...'

With that, Snipes recloaked to meet the situation and repulsored up into the trees, not disturbing a branch. Jetting along slowly, Snipes crept (flew?) up closer to the flag, inch by inch.

OFF: You got confused a bit.

Killalot and Lynrin are the same person. Killalot is a nickname he got becease Lynrin doesn't sound very threatening (face it, an enemy that calls himself "Dark Lord Lynrin" sounds more humourous than threatening. On another hand, "Dark Lord Killalot" sounds a lot more impressive).

Goldsterd is not fast but is very strong.

Killmore is not strong but is very fast.

Lynrin discussed with his teamates... and they decided to opt for a different strategy this time...

"Ketra, Rendar! Come here, and I'll give you a strategy."

ooc: this uses the role-playing rule, Koneko.

As the two came over, Snipes explained his idea.

"Listen- Lynrin is slow, but powerful. Killalot is strong, and goldsterd is fast. because of this, that's why goldsterd and killalot work together. Make sure that goldsterd has no clear path to the flag, and killalot cannot get you two apart. Since I got that flag, I need you guys to watch my back OK?"

While waiting for a reply, Snipes walked away slowly.

Lynrin and his team placed themselves next to their flag...

Lynrin: "We shall not begin to move until you have positionned yourselves correctly..."

Kyle: Oh, I oughta make this a rule right now - healing is allowed during the match. Sounds practical, eh? There's no reason that you shouldn't be able to heal in this type of game. All right, all right, go on.

Sir Killalot suddenly reappears in the middle of the field!

He had not vanished, he had became one with the shadows, thus becoming invinsible!

Goldsterd and Killmore moved back to the middle of the arena...

Lynrin: "We understimated you, worthy opponents and as such, we got what we deserved: a harsh defeat. We are quite honored by your request for a rematch, I could say... and as such, we shall accept."

Lynrin placed his halberd over his head and dark flames errupted from his helmet.

Lynrin: "I call upon the powers of the Black Wind! Rob us of our suffering! Take away our wounds and bring them back into the Darkness, where they shall be used better than just being on our bodies and souls!"

Suddenly, everything grown dark and the wind blew... and as it did, both sides recovered to full health. Also, broken equipment is repaired, magical powers are recovered, and all status changes are removed. In short, everybody returns to the status they had before the match had begun.

Lynrin: "Now that we are back to our original status... we are ready to begin our rematch. Killmore! Goldsterd! Get in position!"

Receiving the phychic message, Snipes answered the question.

"Yeah, a second round sounds nice. It would be fun and give Sir Killalot's team a chance to tie the game."

Kyle: Wow, done already? That was fast. But whatever happened to Sir Killalot?

Kyle waved his arm, and everything moved back to its original position.

Kyle: I suppose you can all play another round, if all of you agree. If that's the case, I'll keep score until the thread dies down or until someone quits, and the winning team will be whoever has the most wins at the end.

Kyle: Oh yes. You can all move back to the middle of your side now, if you choose to continue.

Ketra quickly called back the trench when she heard Goldsterd's surrender. After all, it was only a game!

As Killalot leaped the trench, the image of Rendar disappeared, and Rendar jumped out of his own pocket dimension, claw extended. He quickly withdrew when he saw his teammate plant the flag, and instead told the players in general: Good Game! Another round, perhaps? We still have time.

ooc: I'll get there first, as no-one has stopped me.

Arriving at the flag after no-one had moved to stop him, Snipes touched the flagholder for his side and shouted out,

Caught! I think we've won this round. Ready to trade back flags?

Goldsterd stops right as he was about to dive into the trench.

Goldsterd: "Whoa! Well... I admit it. Your team wins... for now. The first round goes to you! We have understimated you and received the punishment we deserved..."

...

Killmore, unlike Goldsterd, did not gave up when he was the trench.

BOOM!!!

He broke the Barrier of Sound again and then, he jumped!

He was seemingly flying as he made it over the trench... and then, he landed right next to the flag, behind Rendar.

Killmore: "I take possession of this flag in the name of Sir Killalot, the Dark Lord!"

Killmore grabbed the flag and began to run for it, hoping to reach the speed of sound before Rendar could stop him and before the expending force field would block his escape route!

...

Lynrin is still nowhere to be seen. How very weird...

High in the air, Kyle rubbed is forehead as he eyed the trench.

Kyle: Whoa, these are some slick moves I'm seeing. But I'm also kind of worried about the Plague Squad - I'd hate to face them in a normal battle! A person'd get, like, one chance to get hit without dying right then. I hope they stick to CtF...

Ketra sees the shield and twists herself in midair, landing her feet on it and jumping higher, and away. As she reaches the apex of her rebound, she releases the energy from her claw as a blast into the area in front of Goldsterd, blowing open a long trench, five feet across, and who-knows-how deep. It extends to a decent distance in either direction, then begins to curve around Goldsterd!

Rendar sees Killmore making his mad dash across the field. He cancels his sword, instead running directly away from Killmore at phenomenal speeds. As he nears the flag, he turns and stares at the incoming elf. Something seems odd, though...

Meanwhile, the sword falls to the ground, lifeless, as it was about to be struck. Landing point-first, it buries itself in the ground, and begins to form a slowly-expanding circle of energy. Nothing deadly, but just a wall to push anything away.

(ooc: Two turns from now, the trench will be complete, and a section of the arena will fall away. It will rise back up three turns after that, and the trench will go away three turns after that. At the current rate of expansion, it would take 15 turns for the energy wall to ram into the arena edge, when it will stop. Phew, long.)
