My thoughts exactly.
But either way...Woo hasn't produced many Academy Award winners. |

Then I remembered Tomb Raider. She should just stick to stuff like Gia. Yeah, this movie idn't getting made... at least not well, because they are NOT going to be able to find someone that fits the role of Samus well enough. |

This would make for an unhappy audience.

I've said it before, and I'll say it again - if they do this, I'll be pretty well pissed off. Samus is supposed to be a strong, athletic woman. If the actor who lands the role doesn't have muscles, she had better get her ass in the weight room well in advance of shooting. I'm not saying that she has to be freakishly HYOOOOGE or cut up, but she needs a believably tough onscreen presence.
If we can find a women with notable muscle mass & definition (by no means to the point of female body builders, but still notable), and still has the curves and is still stacked...there's the actress. This kind of woman is quite the rarity though.... |

Maybe there'll be a scene where she's out of her suit, and she'll be wearing a SKIN-TIGHT, SKIMPY-AS-CAN-BE swimsuit, and she'll be a-runnin', and she'll trip/fall over, and her tits will pop out of the suit. Yeah, and she'll also be wearing panties. Oooooh, goody.
Sounds like a plan.

An example of a good casting choice for a similar role is Jada Pinkett-Smith as Niobe in the latter two Matrix movies. To portray her character - a badass warrior of Zion - Ms. Pinkett-Smith hit the weights hard, developing a suitably strong-looking frame (and some nice real-life strength, too - according to the article I read about her training, she worked her way up to benching something like 170 pounds). Onscreen, she looked like she could kick serious ass, not as if she would snap in half if she picked up a dumbbell that wasn't coated in neon vinyl. Hrm...I wonder if anybody has contacted her about this role... |

This better be good. Most video game turned into movies aren't that good. Resident Evil was okay though...I think. |

I hope this movie is going to be good, not like most of them...

Hmm...i heard about this movie last year and i thought it was Uwe Boll who was the film director. He has bought a bunch of game licenses to make movies of them.
I hope this movie will be good and kick-ass. Is it an all 3d-movie? Like Final Fantasy? |

Yea, let's hope it's good, since we have to wait a couple more years for it. (I heard rumors about this almost a year ago.) |

"Film director John Woo (PAYCHECK, WINDTALKERS) has optioned the movie rights to Nintendo's METROID video game franchise. Woo will produce the movie along with Suzanne Zizzi, Terence Chang and Brad Foxhoven, and he also could direct the film if he so chooses.
The movie will focus on the original premise of the METROID series, that being of a futuristic female bounty hunter named Samus Aran and her mission to bring down the evil machine forces of Mother Brain and the Metroids. Nintendo has made METROID games for the original NES game system, the GameCube and the GameBoy Advance. An eighth game, METROID PRIME 2, will make its debut during next month's E3 gaming convention.
The plan is to release the METROID film sometime in 2006 and hope it is successful enough to spawn a new movie franchise."
