ooc: Shit, remind me never to have snipes get into a battle with phantron, zerodius. I wasn't actually caught by the vine, though. It must have just looked like that to phantron.
Rolling away from the vine, Snipes avoided Phantron's foot. Getting up, and then diving to get out of the way of her grenades, Snipes landed in front of phantron, and got up quickly, before smiling at phantron.
"Thanks, I appreciated that."
Then, taking aim with his pistol, Snipes fired off a few more rounds at the nives near Cyberaptor, still uable to see if the vine holding him had let go or not.

Phantron suddenly realised something...
She looked around, baffled to see that time had seemingly moved foward quickly... very quickly...
Phantron: "NO! This is... HMPH!"
Phantron kicked the ground in frustration, knowing what had caused this distortion! That stupid alternate personality! She will have to take care of it sooner or later... but for now... her main target!
Phantron aimed at Jackson... it would be easy to fire a volley of missiles and kill him now... but her mind noticed something else...
Snipes tied to a vine and about to be devoured...
Her personalities struggled... and in the end, she chose Snipes. She will have the occasion to kill the pirates later but if Snipes dies now... then that's it.
Phantron's thrusters were activated as she joined the melee, dashing right toward the plant! She passed by at an insane speed, kicking the vine with her sharp right foot... and then, as she passed over the Nightmare Weed, she let go a few incendiary grenades...
Finally, Phantron did a backflip and landed on the other side of the Nightmare Weed, not too far from it's claws so that she may be close enough to attack once again.
Her radar activated to see if her attacks had been successful or not...

rolling to the side, Snipes was grazed by the plant. Turning to face Cyberaptor, snipes responded.
"No, I don't leave people behind."
Taking aim, Snipes fired three flaming shots at the vine holding Cyberaptor

With Cyberaptor's jet of fire, and the three fiery bullets that Snipes shot into its face, the Nightmare Weed squirmed in pain, randomly waving its claws and roots. One scythe hit Cyberaptor out of the air, fortunately with the flat side, but it still damaged him a bit. Cyberaptor landed just next to Snipes.
Cyberaptor: We're going to need more than fire to get rid of this thing, Snipes! Let me scan it for more info. It's a complex creature, though, so may take some time.
Cyberaptor's antenna unfolded and emitted a green beam, aimed at the Nightmare Weed. Yet, it hadn't been on it for more than three seconds, that the Weed's bud started glowing a strange green color... a few moments later, a neon beam of energy shot a hole through it, from the inside out! From out of the hole jumped Jackson, holding his Radio Ring out in front of him. From the trail of neon energy it generated, it seemed that the ring was responsible for the energy beam!
Jackson joined his men, unaware of Cyberaptor and Snipes behind him.
Pirate 4: Cap'n, you're all righ'! We thoughts you was dead, when you was eatin'!
Jackson: Keep fighting, men! The second key is inside the Weed's bud, but it's too hard to get while it is still alive - there's a few more layers of armor. Kill it now!
The pirates all fired at the Nightmare Weed, and Jackson used the ring to fire a neon beam at the Weed's stalk.
Meanwhile, the Weed got busy. With one scythe, it extended its reach to hit Snipes - with its other, it smashed and killed Pirate 7. One root grazed Pirate 1, bringing him even closer to death. Also, the Weed shot out its three tongues; one wrapped around Pirate 3, one around Jackson, and one around Cyberaptor! In two turns, they would reach the Weed's mouth, where they would be horribly devoured!
Cyberaptor: Whoa! Snipes, don't worry about me; I can get myself out of this. Try to exploit the plant's weakness!

Grimacing, Snipes watched cyberaptor's move, and his gaze trailed the stream of fire into the plant.
"Interesting... Perhaps..."
Concentrating, Snipes charged his pistol with fire energy he learned form the soul resonance, and fired three more shots, but this time charged with fire.

Cyberaptor continued his pursuit against Phantron, but soon found that she was at the exact opposite side of the Nightmare Weed, and it wasn't about to let him get by. The only way to stop Phantron would be to kill the monster.
Cyberaptor: All right, fiend, you've provoked me enough! Die, now!
All three of Snipe's shots hit the Nightmare Weed, but it didn't seem to notice the bullets. Still intent on hitting Cyberaptor, it swung its scythe quickly, but once more narrowly missed him. Cyberaptor activated his jet pack, and flew to the Weed's height.
Cyberaptor: I see you have a natural weakness to fire!
A device below Cyberaptor's right wrist extended downward. It was oval shaped, with one red end and one cyan end. Once it rotated so the red end was facing forward, Cyberaptor used the device to shoot a blast of fire into the Weed's head!
The ten pirates all attacked in unison with their firearms, glad that the Weed's attention was pulled from them... at least, they believed it was. One of its thick, thorny roots lifted from the ground, and smashed two of them! The two survived, but only just.

"f*cking hell, Phantron!"
Smashed to the side by the force, Snipes cartwheeled sideways, before slamming down. Responding to Cyberaptor, Snipes asked him not to follow Phantron, but Cyberaptor had already left.
"Damn it, guys! If you get hurt I can't help you now!"
Pulling out his pistol, Snipes switched to power mode and clipped on his scope. His Snipes training wouold come in handy now... Taking aim, Snipes squeezed out multiple shots at the nightmare weed, his aim precise.

Finally... it's battle time! Be ready for a long one, this boss is tougher than you might think!

Cyberaptor ran toward Phantron, hoping to stop her.
Cyberaptor: Phantron, control yourself! Stay where you are!
But his words were useless; she wouldn't listen! Cyberaptor halted for a moment, and made a slight gulp at the huge monster before him... without even checking to see if he was all right, Cyberaptor hurriedly spoke to Snipes.
Cyberaptor: Snipes, I'm going to go into the field to bring Phantron back. Since you care about her, I will try not to harm her in the process, but I cannot allow her to attack those men out there!
Cyberaptor didn't remember that Jackson was his enemy. He was very suspicious about the pirates, but he had bigger things to worry about... like rampageous robots, and gigantic killing plants!

By the time Phantron got close to the airship, most of the crew was scattered around the flat gray field, dead or too hurt to move. Those remaining were either running into the jungle, preparing to escape in the airship's escape pods (the airship was far too damaged to fly out, and had gone into a lock down mode - in this state, it was completely covered by a near impenetrable metal shielding), or defending their comrades by firing lasers at the Nightmare Weed. Jackson was nowhere to be found.
It was obvious that the pirates had worn the Nightmare Weed somewhat, but they surely weren't going to win the fight alone. Only 12 were faced against it! Just by looking at the Nightmare Weed, one would know it would take more than 12 ordinary men to defeat it.
To start, it was easily 3 stories tall. It was shaped like a piranha plant, or more closely like a deku baba, but had parts that clearly varied. Its humongous, black-flowered head housed large spiny teeth and three vine-like toungues, just like the ones Snipes and Cyberaptor had been attacked with earlier, but were surely much stronger and more lethal. The weed's 'stem' was completely armored with huge thorns all the way up and down, providing an almost unpenetrable defense for all but the most powerful physical attacks.
The most noticeable parts of the Nightmare Weed were its arms, which were actually two enormous scythes, each about 15 feet long. The Nightmare Weed put this to good use, smiting pirate after hapless pirate in just one blow each time.
At the weed's base was a big black bud, which it could probably retreat into when inactive. The bud likely provided a very strong defensive resting spot as well, where the Nightmare Weed could regenerate if it took too large a beating.
And if that wasn't enough, the bud was guarded from every direction by four massive roots, each as thick as a truck and half as long as the weed itself. The roots were littered with spikes everywhere, making them far more lethal than the scythes when combined with bulk, but much less mobile - the roots were confined to the very small space surrounding the bud, for more of a defensive use than an offensive one.
That, and the Nightmare Weed's tendency to re-grow its lost parts and recover its health with every human body it ate, made it truly terrifying.
But if one could break their gaze from the monster's terror, and focus on the bud for a few seconds, they'd notice that it glowed on and off with a red color... after all, the second key was guarded by the weed, inside its bud. The only way to get the key, and continue the treasure hunt, would be to defeat the Nightmare Weed.
Nightmare Weed: 1015 / 1500 HP

Just as the Nightmare Weed finished licking its 'lips' with its three terrible tongues (it had just eaten one of the twelve fighting pirates), it noticed Phantron go by, followed by Cyberaptor. Without hesitating, it swung one of its enormous scythes down, trying to hit Cyberaptor! Cyberaptor stopped just in time to avoid getting skewered, but was cut off from Phantron for a time, allowing her to go unhindered for a while.
The eleven pirates all fired their weapons at the Nightmare Weed's head, but it hardly flinched. With its other scythe arm, it smashed another pirate, bringing the total down to ten.
Cyberaptor: I hope I'm not forced to fight this thing... Phantron! Stop this madness!

(Healing is, of course, allowed, in case I needed to point that out  . At this point, Phantron and Snipes could befriend the pirates and fight the Nightmare Weed, though it seems Phantron won't do that. The again, there would be advantages to getting rid of them first. Your choice. You both know how to Sim-Battle, so just follow the basic rules, fight strategically, and beat this beast!)

Tall black flames start to errupt from Phantron's armor as she becomes enraged.
Phantron: "ENOUGH!!!"
The voice that came out of her talking unit system wasn't her usual, warm, feminine voice but rather a deep, demonic, loud, menacing voice.
Suddenly, a wave of unknow energy was shot, knocking the poor Snipes to the side. However, as she knocked him out of the way, she suddenly flinched and stumbled a bit, as if the attack had hurt her as well... and a single tear came out of her mechanical eyes... but quickly enough, the flames reappeared and her thrusters activated as she dashed toward the gigantic plant.

Taking the kick to his leg, Snipes lost his balance, and had to quickly shift his weight to avoid falling over. Instinctively reaching down to check his knee, Snipes flinched, but didn't move.

Phantron: "Get out of the way, worm!"
Phantron tried to blast the annoying fool... but something within her refused to allow her to fire her weapons at him so, unstead, she gave a sharp kick in Snipes's right knee!
The kick was more than strong enough to break throught heavy armor and as such, it was almost guaranteed to at least cause some serious pain. |

"Phantron, you can stop now."
Rising, snipes walked in front of Phantron.
"The pirates aren't going anywhere, and neither are you. I don't like this, but I'll make you stay here if I have to. If you really want to be helped, then you'll listen to me."
Pulling out his pistol, Snipes held it at his side in an effort to coerce Phantron into staying where she was, and maybe have her nice self resume dominance. |

Phantron turned toward the meadow... her original personality rising within her...
Phantron: "I must... I... I feel the pirates... they are here... and they're going down!"
Phantron walked toward the Nightmare Weed. She didn't cared if that thing was huge and dangerous for she KNEW that she was more dangerous than it was. She would burn it down herself if she needed to in order to reach those pirates! |

Sneaking up slowly, Snipes parted some of the bushes just enough to see through. Gasping, Snipes called over cyberaptor

Cyberaptor continued leading the way, not bothering to inspect the rustling noise. He had more important things to worry about than random sounds... if it was important, it would present itself, and he'd react appropriately. But he had been delayed long enough, and it was time he fulfilled his mission, however trivial it seemed. So, for several more hours, he stomped through the trees, leading Snipes and Phantron.
As they went farther and farther along Cyberaptor's imaginary path, the scenery got darker. Bushes became more scarce and had less color, and trees started bending in unusual ways. There was no sign of wildlife. Eventually, a trace of light could be seen through the gray canopy, and Cyberaptor stopped.
Cyberaptor: This is it. We've reached our destination. 10 yards ahead of us, the trees stop suddenly, and give way to a large meadow. There, you would find the Nightmare Weed. This is what you wanted, correct? I would not advise getting much closer. The Nightmare Weed can be a colossal threat, even at a range.
Though Cyberaptor, who was so much like a computer, showed no emotion, he truly did not want to go any further. However, if Phantron went forward, he would have to, as it was currently his primary mission to keep her in his sight at all times.
It was possible at this point that the mystery object in the bushes Phantron mentioned earlier could have followed them, if it had the ability. Otherwise it was just Snipes, Phantron, Cyberaptor, the Nightmare Weed a distance ahead of them, and though they did not know it, many pirates as well.

Meanwhile, in the opposite direction of the Nightmare Weed's meadow, Kyle waited against a tree idly. There was a crashing noise, and Blue landed right next to him, having just dived through the thick tree tops.
Kyle: See anything up there?
Blue: Yes! I found the Nightmare Weed in a meadow straight ahead of us!
Kyle: Perfect, let's get going then. I can't wait to get out of here.
Blue: Before we do that, there's a problem - we've been beaten to the punch. Remember our pirate buddies? They're already there.
Kyle sighed tiredly.
Kyle: We don't stand a chance against them, with their mobility!
Blue: Actually, I think we might be in luck with that. From the looks of it, their airship crashed, and it's getting torn to piece by the monster! That's a relief, eh?
Kyle: If you want to look at it that way. But it seems to me that if the pirates don't get the monster, we're going to be fighting the thing that destroyed their huge ship!
Blue: Uhh... well, I saw the weed, and I've fought bigger things before. I think. There was this one time that I was faced against a giant ice scorpion...
Kyle: Aw, not another one of your adventure stories! C'mon, let's get moving. We can make judgements once we get a closer look at the thing.
Blue lead the way to the meadow, retelling one of his many stories, none of which sounded credible. |

Phantron: "That's weird... I have the feeling that this sound... nevermind."
Phantron followed Cyberaptor... but a part of herself told her that something was happening back there... |

Beginning to follow Cyberaptor, Snipes turned to face Phantron.
"You coming?"
Turning back, Snipes thought he heard a rustle in the jungle, but dismissed it for the wind because it wasn't the same rustle as before, when the shyguys attacked. |

A weary, disheveled looking CheesePie appeared.
Sorry I'm late. Very sorry. So sorry. Really sorry. I'm truly, very sorry. I've had computer issues... and other things. But I'm back now! And I'll stay focused on this thread, even if it is the only thread I focus on, here at this board!

Cyberaptor agreed to lead the way for Phantron and Snipes, and trudged off once again into the dark jungle. By his calculations, they could reach their target in a few hours

Meanwhile, Jackson staggered off of the Basilisk along with many other pirates, after it had made a rough landing in a large clearing. The airship had taken a heavy toll, but the crew would be able to fix it within a day.
Jackson: I'll get you, Phantron. First the treasure, then you!
Several pirates behind him started yelling wildly, and he quickly turned around.
Jackson: What the - bloody hell!
Though he couldn't believe it, an extremely tall, plant-like shape started rising out of the ground behind his airship! He could only make out the obvious details, as it was mostly obscured by the airship's bulk - but he knew right away that he had found the Nightmare Weed! |

"Huh, I guess you managed to forget a ton, courtesy of your other self. you left a while ago, long before we fount the nightmare weed's offspring, found out where to go, then came here and got ambushed by shyguys. Anyways, let's head towards the nightmare plant. Cyberaptor, if you could lead the way..." |

Phantron stared at Cyberaptor, confused.
Phantron: "Taking off? I never took off. I was with you during all that... time?"
Phantron began to think... and realised she had no memory of what happened!
Phantron: "Great... I don't remember what happened. All that I remember is that I sensed a presence and then... I'm here."
Phantron paused.
Phantron: "This is starting to get annoying!... and I have the feeling that some reason, finding the Nightmare Weed will help me solve my memory problems... but I don't know why. I just have that strange feeling and that's all..." |
