Yes, I've completely dumped this hack and am remaking it. I have many reasons for doing so, but here are some updates.. Crateria is now Chozodia, Mardia is above water, Wrecked Ship is now Sunken Ship, and there is going to be a secret world.. Anyways, here are two pictures of beta rooms in Chozodia:

You guys like?? I've almost completely changed those rooms, the first room is first room to the left after overworld and the second is the door right of the long shaft, they look a lot different, huh? They were to much like the original in the beginning.

Looks good so far...
However I think you over killed on the spikes. and some other things...

Was it intentional that you made it possible to get permanently stuck (to the point where you can't even commit suicide on spikes or enemies, and have to reset?) I'm talking about the long shaft that has the pincers (that cause no damage) and ends in that little room in Crateria that you need a speed-boost to leave.

Also, I imported my savestates from near the end of the game, and escaping to your ship after beating the Mother Brain is impossible.

I realize you have another project on hand as you've told me, so I'm not sure how much this matters.

Wow. I can't even get in to the planet's underground. I guess I'm not as good as I thought. Anyone want to help me out? :\

Lucky thing I have the sweetest PC gamepad.
But even that's not as good as the good ol' PS2 gamepad. I'm planning on getting an adaptor so I can use that thing on the PC.

Anywho, I retract my previous statement about the X-Ray Scope glitch. It seems that if you collect all the one-of-a-kind items in that room, leave, and then go back in, the X-Ray Scope goes back to freezing the game.
So, like you said, it's probably that there are two different scanners in the room at once.

I didn't play it too long - but I'm impressed on some parts of it. The first boss is not challenging, but CAN be if you are not prepared about that dried and watered room - I read that thread and was prepared; but if you was not - uh, instant kill, since a spike does 70 damage points (and it is nearly impossible to kill the boss without being hit at least once and/or missed shooting down his projectils, thus collecting energy and missiles.

But nice you only have five missiles, at least I had only 5 of them, you actually NEED to recharge - using your normal shot takes too long. At least easier than giving the player sufficient irems, then standing on the left - easy victory

There is a nasty glitch, which also is about the scrolling borders (I mean if the game decides if to scroll the screen when near a wall or not - opening a small entrance in a wall can cause the screen to scroll left suddenly, thus hiding secrets this way):

As you can see, Samus actually is standing in the air. That's not entirely true, but you enter that room the first time from the right side. There is a small hole which is blocked by two blocks which can be destroyed using (power) bombs and the Screw Attack. See this screen for reference.
If you get into there, the screen follows you. Jump and and turn left.
Now get out of the gap, turn left and let fall yourself into that area I make the shot of. You basically fall through the bottom ... and arrive on the top - what reminds me about funny glitches in the original Metroid fo NES.
Basically the screen just doesn't follow Samus - but Samus moves. So, in that screen above I'm on the bottom of that room, but except her everything doesn't follow her.

If you are on the bottom you even can shoot down to activate the door. Then the screen turns black as usually when entering a door, you will arrive in the next room - glitch ends.
If you go left _without_ being in the gap first (again), the screen follows normally when you go down the long shaft.

The minimap is a good indicator - it shows the down part of that room - but I'm standing in the most top part of it

Wow, this hack is good, but as mentioned, really freaking hard...and my Metroid skills are a sense of pride to me, but jeez, this thing gives me a real run for my money. If I had an SNES controller it might be easier, walljumping is really annoying on a keyboard...I liked the Morph Ball maze, btw, good job.

I have noted the following glitches in Super Metroid 2.

-When you try to travel through an area only two blocks tall, you can duck and it will pull you through. I don't know whether or not you meant to do that, but I don't like it. You should just make the passages three blocks tall so Samus can walk through them normally.

-About the X-Ray scope glitch. It seems that it will work in a room in Brinstar after you've gotten a one-of-a-kind item from that room. (items that are not missiles, super missiles, or bombs) however, if that room has no one-of-a-kind item, you can never get it to work there.

-When you go back from the room with the Screw Attack in it, you must Screw Attack through blocks to reach the narrow passage to get back up out of the room. Since you don't have bombs, you can get stuck in the blocks if they reform around you.
No way out!

This hack is HARD...nice work.

BTW, there are a number of rooms in which falling down causes instant death sometimes and just going down normally other times...and other times you end up back at the top of the screen.

About the x-ray scope thing, I suspect it might be because there's already a scanner thing in the room and the game doesn't know how to handle both simultaneously.

As for the hack being large, I suspect it might be related to how many of the sounds are stored in the .ips (don't know if they just shifted or if you intended to hack them.)

I never noticed it was so big, wonder why. Well, it didn't really bug me much of the size since it was an IPS I thought it would be just a few hundred kbs. But here is it in an ace archive (481kb).

Why don't you zip (741 KB) or rar (632 KB) it?

Yeah, I used up all of the bandwidth at my board, sucks huh? But, thanks to Googie, I was able to transfer it over to his host and I uploaded my hack. So, here it is, take note its only a demo though, it ends at Brinstar and I need to associate speed boost before the morph ball maze. I didn't associate it because I wanted people to be able to go trough morph ball maze, you get stuck at end though where you need speed boost. I havn't worked on this hack lately (waiting for Jathy's to finish beam editor, thats gonna be awesome), but I'm not as busy as I used to be (currently working on 2 other hacks but nothing much else is going on) so I think I'll get back to work on it.

The two rooms with the morph ball and screw attack freeze when you use the x-ray scope.

Wall jump up the left and past the small 3 block overhang. Keep going, don't think there's anything too suprising after the overhang, until you come to a two block high gap. Kneel really close to the gap and be suprised.

Am I supposed to be stuck in the beginning or is there a secret way? I shot every spot of the ground nothing. I tried that wall jump, but that takes me nowhere. What the hell do I do?
