Yay you finally saw Invader Zim! YAY! It's Gir the most awesome character on the show.

Hooray! GIR! GIR is awesome! That pixel art is great! I especially like the 2nd one.

I'm not so much working on the actual linework, but trying to get better at the antialiasing and stuff. With my original pixel works, my antialiasing / lack of AA / poorly done AA really messed a few things up, so now I just fuck around with stuff trying to get better at AA.

Which is why I'm madder at the second GIR than I am at the first one. I just am not happy with those eyes at all.

Well anyone can trace. I used to trace before I realized it was total bull (I have since deleted all of these pixel works).
Not to attack you, since I know you're extremely talented and can back it up, I just hate it when people resort to tracing and call it official pixel art. This is most popular with pixel portraits of people. To use an example I saw recently..

I just don't get it, anyone can copy over an image. I'd rather see someone challenge themselves by not tracing, and instead by making their own interpretations.
Of course you're just making cartoon characters, and people are impressed by this, and people always seem to be impressed with tracing. So I don't know. I guess it's just me.

Your art looks good of course.

Little of both. Tracing is certainly easier for getting curved lines right for me; although I always stuff it up anyways, and harder lines are easier if I reference them. Either way I always have to try to fix up my errors with both methods by manually antialiasing the hell out of it.

Did you look at the official artwork while making that, or did you trace on top of it?

Um... not really logos so much, but I do bigger artwork. Mostly anime-styled work in OpenCanvas, but I dabble in making the occasional icon, wallpaper, photography, web-button, isometric Pixel Art, cartoon Pixel Art and website design. Art is teh fun

And cheers

Wow that's some nice pixel art, some of the best i've seen really. Do you do bigger artworks like logos and stuff too? O.O

I did a second GIR, but I don't like it as much as the first. The thinner lines were harder to pixel, so this one took a little bit longer and makes me a little bit sad.

I'd do Zim, Gaz and Dib, but I'm feeling tired right now so I don't think I will, at least for now.

DOOOOOOOOOMMMM!!~~~

The only thing that I know of that comes close to this would be...

And someone has that in their sig. Aside from that I likes...and if that took you only 45 minutes, I would assume you could pull a lot of them out rather well at that rate.

I've recently gotten pay TV here, which means I've finally gotten to see the Invader Zim series I kept hearing about online.

I like GIR So I made a little Pixel Art GIR based on official artwork, in his little dog costume.

I thought about doing one of GIR not in his costume, but the one I'm working on so far isn't quite working out so I'll see how I go.

Pixel-GIR was made in Adobe Photoshop in about 45 minutes, and he has a transparent background.
