Sprite editing is easy and very possible (and it's been done by me). Making NEW sprites is a different story, which is what would have to be done to make new bosses.

The risc of doing that of course is that you would be bored of it. And maybe only make one level... like what I did when I hacked SMB3, and that is true for SMW to.

One major rule of rom hacking: never hack a game to try to be known as the greatest hacker ever. Do it because you want to and for the fun. You seem to do a nice job of this, Jasp. Other hackers who DO hack for the recognition should learn from him.

For some reason I thought on a enemy made of blocks when you said "tile based" bosses... imagine huge piles of brick. XD

Hmm, so it's bosses that stands still. Intresting. but I do hope you do it so good that people actually thinks its "sprite based".

Yeap, it'll work almost the same way, with a target to hit and sprites are usd as its attacks.

You said they will be tile-based bosses, so, for example, it'll look like Kirby's famous tree boss ?

Like I said, there won't be any new Sprite Based enemies, so the bullet bill idea is out of the question.

The 4 extra boxes have already been decided on as far as their purpose:

1st box = Item/Sprite reserver
2nd box = Current Ability in use
3rd box = Kuribo's Shoe reserve
4th box = Coin meter

The coin meter will fill up as you grab more coins, once it completes (making a full coin tile), then something will happen, just not sure what yet,

For Wlokos's idea, make the level a super-fast scrolling screen, and put the Bullet Bill behind Mario, chasing him. You could have Mario run through a tiny gap in the wall at the end, and the Bullet Bill hits the whole wall and dies.

I'd be cool to have a giant Bulllet Bill style boss that you had to chase through the level until he crashed into a wall at the end. IF you lose sight of him, then you would lose or something.. That'd be really cool.
