Well, it would be relatively trivial to create a routine that writes a new palette when overworld number = x...it's just a matter of finding the right place to insert the code. You'd also have to insert and link to the palette manually via a hex editor. |

Fu really needs to make a custom palette for the different OV sections. But no, he doesn't work on LM anymore.
If the all of the 16 colors for the 4 Palettes were different for each OV area, then I wouldn't have as much of a problim with it, but it only changes 8 of the colors in the 4 palettes.
And the fact that the "Vanilla Dome & Valley of Bowser" areas uses the same palette also pisses me off, the same thing goes with Star World an Special World.

Simple. They just used a different subsection.
Ice World - Special Zone
Sky land - Forest of Illusion
Boo world - Vanilla Dome
Valley of Bowser - Valley of Bowser
Crystal Caves - Yoshi's Island
Star World - Star World
Everything else - Main overworld.
Not sure about Sky Land and Crystal Caves, they could be reversed, but you get the idea. |

Arghh, Lunar Magic shouldn't have them listed seperately then
but how is it that in demo world cont. that bowsers world's pallete is different from vanilla dome |

It sucks I know. Especially when you are making Vinnila dome a water world and bowsers land a grass land. There is no way to get around this. Because both the world uses the same colours and GFX it was easier just to use same pallets instead of 2 (which I think is stupid). There is no way around it. |

I've been building my overworld for the past few days and I'm getting to the point where I'm editing the palletes for the sub sections. One thing I noticed is that for 'Valley of Bowser' and 'Vanilla Dome' sections I can't edit their palletes seperately without one changing the other. I'm only changing the part of the pallete that changes along the parts of the sub sections.
i.e. I change the water color to red so that bowser's world has lava, but vanilla dome gets lava color water as well :-(
Any explanations? I've had no problem changing the pallete seperately for the forrest of illusion section. |
