Goof Troop was an old disney show, starring Goofy, and his son Max, among some other people, who are kidnapped by Pirates in this game. Don't shun this game just because it's disney though. It's a high-quality title by capcom.

You might try narrowing your search until you isolate one tile.

It looks like you might have actually hit some graphics stuff, probably the TSA. Notice how the corrupted level keeps the same shape as the unaltered level, only the graphics are garbled.

EDIT: Just noticed that you already mentioned what I did, but I hope what I said was more specific.

I'm not too great with corruption, but I think I might have found something here, so try and bear with me, ok? Ok, this is for the SNES version of Goof Troop. Below, is a screen of the first area:



Now, after I run corrupster, I have some information. Here are two more screens of it, after I narrowed down my search a little. You can see, that the layout stays the same but the tiles are completely different. My question: Did I hit level data? :o



Oh, here are the notes I took while corrupting:

00000 - 10000 - Game will not run.
10000 - 20000 - Game will not run.
20000 - 25000 - Opening Text screen keeps looping.
25000 - 26000 - Nothing
26000 - 28000 - Game stops after opening text.
28000 - 2C000 - Game stops after slide show, before level 1.
2C000 - 2D000 - Patterns of same tile in opneing screens. (Level Data?!)
2D000 - 2D500 - Nothing
2D500 - 2E000 - Patterns of same tile in level 1 (Level Data?!)
( First Picture: Increasing Bytes by 1)
( Second Picture: Increasing them by 6)
7C200 - 7E000 - Graphics
