Not true. You can deal up to 150 damage with swords with the right build. You need to have the right requirement for swordsmanship to deal max damage. Bows have the same concept as do all the other weapons. If you don't meet the requirement you will only be doing 1-5 damage depending on the level of your opponent.

WoW. Definitely. GW is boring and overrated in my opinion. You basically HAVE to get the armor in order, and there is very limited armor for your class. In WoW, you can train, and use different weapons types, but in GW, you're limited to what your primary profession gets, because if you're a ranger, and you a 14-27 sword or something, you'll hit for 8 max with it, while with a bow, you would hit in your 40s.

All in all, Guild Wars is a very limited game - very boring - you die all the time (or I do anyway), and the stat penalty is really annoying.

I just got WoW 3 weeks ago, and I have a blast with it. So get WoW, that's just my opinion though

I really WANT to play ToS again, but I just can't get myself back into it, especially since I got stuck on the ice place, and my brother already beat it, and I know the ending. But I want Riviera/Advance Wars desperately ):<

Let me put it this way regarding the monthly fee. The sheer amount of actual gameplay hours I have gotten out of WoW is equivelant to several thousands of dollars worth in console rpgs. (With the exception of Morrowind.) I've more than had my money's worth out of this game.

I buy games on an even farther apart distance, merely because I can play continuously and not get bored. For my gamecube, I've probably only spent around $60.00 to get around four games, none of which I have become bored with, excluding Star Wars: The Clone Wars. Just because it sucked. ;[ Then again, I mean I bought Super Mario Smash Bros. and the Sonic Megacollection, so I guess I'll be busy for awhile. I wanna get Tales of Symphonia though. I hear it's kickass.

I went from WoW to GW because at first it was fun and free but after about 2-3 weeks I went back to WoW.
It just gets boring pretty quickly.

I'd say Guildwars is more of an MMORPG 'lite'. If you want to play a game where you can get to the peak of the game in a couple days, go with Guildwars.

If you want a game where you can play for a several months and have fun getting to the peak, go with WoW.

Anyone who is shocked and surprised at the monthly price is pretty new to mmorpgs to begin with. Like I've said many times before, if 14 or 15 dollars a month is outrageous to you, then maybe you shouldn't be buying video games in the first place. :/

But back on the topic, I personally would pick GW just because of the pay once only, but I would MUCH prefer WoW just because it has so many better features than GW.

I'm not gonna vote though, because of the fact that I haven't played either. My preference is only based on the fact that WoW has spawned quite a few things (such as Leroy Jenkins) from being so popular, and because of, again, all the features the game has to offer.

If I had a better computer I would probably end up getting WoW though.

WoW. I'm pretty sure it's the only game in the world where you can walk around as a big beefy cow-man with a boomstick in your hands and a trained cougar at your side.

Anyway, I've finally decided to vote for World of Warcraft. Guild Wars is a decent game in it's own right, but it doesn't stand the test of time. After a couple of weeks, you've pretty much done all you can do with the exception of the pvp side of the game which I really didn't enjoy too much. (I'm more of a pve guy.)

World of Warcraft is hands down the greatest mmorpg ever made. It's really going to be hard to top this one and I don't forsee it happening anytime soon.

It's a question of good vs. cheap.

If you're afraid of monthly fees so much, why bother looking for a [decent] MMORPG? Guild Wars relies on expansions to uphold its servers and itself, whereas Blizzard's servers are constantly maintained. You don't get quality for free, you know.

I own both Guildwars and World of Warcraft. I prefer World of Warcraft, I'm having alot more on it than I did for the week that I played Guildwars.

The first week or so of Guildwars I had fun, my friend and I played it for a few hours a day. Then I got stuck with tests for a week and found myself quite behind from them and I ended up losing interest in it. The missions *are* group oriented, even if you use the henchmen (Bots, basically) the missions are difficult because the henchmen aren't exactly that bright. Its pretty quick to hit the level cap on Guildwars(which is 20), then you'll probably want to whore out PVP since the game doesn't have too much PVE content. Honestly, the main reason I bought it was because it was it had no monthly fee.

World of Warcraft has been much more fun, it has a lot more features and things to do even after you hit level 60(Since that

Free servers are lame. Go ahead and play with 12 other people and see how much fun you have in a MASSIVE online game.
