Yeah, that one's funny.
Of course, when these kind of comics are translated into norwegian, they change the names of everyone, so it's impossible to know their french/english names.
Gaston Lagaffe is called "Viggo" over here.
(And Beetle Bailey is called "Billy".. why can't they just keep the original name?) |

Well, from what I've noticed here in America: Europeans tend to lean towards the idea that comic books/strips/whatever are art, while Americans *glare* say they are art, but are a lower form of it.
What do you guys think of this? |

I also read most of Spirou & Fantasio, and some other French comics I liked at the time (not sure if they all got translated to other languages) were Gaston Lagaffe (by the same who started Spirou), L |

Osborn is like that because he injected himself with the radiological version of himself (like what happened to Peter being bitten by the radiological spider). It brought out the most evil and vile parts of him. Creating a demon looking thing.
Read the Ultimate 6 for a better look at this. |

I don't like Doonesbury for the most part.
I heard it used to be hilarious, like they did a safari through Ronald Regan's head.

Both of those are printed in the norwegian "Larson's Gale Verden" They also print Dilbert, and they're gonna start print Opus. And they used to print Nemi, until she got her own mag.
Yeah, Larson's Gale verden print a lot of quality comics.
Also, how could I forget about Doonesbury? That comic rocks.

Both Asterix and Tintin were most definitely least accepted in America. I was talking about Tintin in class, and people thought I was talking about that stupid dog, RinTinTin, so they all went beserk when I said it was originally a comic. 
As for Lucky Luck and Iznogoud, good books, but as their other counterparts, not respected. I do think they have an American-made, Lucky Luck movie though. *ponders*
Personally, I love european comics, pretty different from American ones (which I love as well.) They're also how I got into comics, since my dad had an entire book case of different books. (Not like he read them or anything. |

I really don't read super-hero comics. I read comic magazines, which have many comics in them. So i'll just state my favorites:
Arne Anka - Best comic ever, no competition. Swedish. Of crouse
Nemi - Very good Norwegian comic.

Heh, both Tintin and Asterix were big here in the states.  The Adventures of Tintin cartoon series had a run on Nickelodian some years back. Was a very good show. |

Yeah, a lot of French comics (from France, Belgium, etc.) are pretty good, and they aren't too rare here either since they don't even need to be translated ... I used to read a lot of those, renting books from the library Reading so many is what inspired me to make my own about 10 years ago, first with characters from those comics then some of my own
Asterix and Tintin were both popular here (although I guess it was even more popular in Europe ), I remember we had the full Tintin collection (22 books) and I read it all ... |
