I was kinda annoyed by that post, myself, especially since I've already bitched about that kind of stuff before. Good to see how much people listen and change.

I wish I had access to cheap computer components; if so, I'd probably have already built myself a MAME cab. As it is, I'm just stocking up on PCBs; my latest is Smash TV, which is pretty cool. Turns out to be a buggy game, though; I ran into two problems right off the bat with it. Midway arcade hardware sucks. It's the most poorly designed crap I've yet seen - hell, even Atari's hardware, what with all of its boards getting confused by the coin counter in my cab, is better than Midway's.

But anyway, keep us informed as to how the cab goes; I'm interested in how you're going about doing your MAME setup.

You're forgiven. My kinda outburst was due to it being late. I understand the boredom thing. Can really drain the synapses.

Sorry photo?! Which one? Whoozit?!

I dont appreciate the laugh. Not very helpful. I already know shitloads and have a stack of material and resources along with the abilities to mess around with electrics.

The reason i asked for input from people was because something as specialist as this will always bring up unique problems that need to be overcome. What i wanted was other people's experience and knowledge of arcades and mame not a sentence taking the piss.

Cheers for the tips NetSplit i'd actually neglected to think about games like Smash TV. Its a brilliant game so I will definately be adding more controls. That comes later though right now im buying and setting up the hardware. I'm a computer technician so I have access to cheap components thankfully.

Maybe this will be of help? I have an arcade machine and 19 games, myself, and am not currently looking into building a MAME cab, so I don't really have much info on them right now, but I expect it's something I'll do within the next couple years. I suggest that you add a fourth button to that cab so you can play all Neo Geo games with minimal control problems, and it would also be helpful if you want to do, say, multiplayer Smash TV and Total Carnage. But anyway, good luck to you.

Right so ive just bought myself an arcade cabinet minus any games and ive been doing my research to build a PC inside and run emulators on it.

What i need is any info or website links to spare parts or reference material on setting up this type of system. Ive got a lot of sites already but whats most important is spare parts like a PC2JAMMA converter.
