Well, why do we hack in the first place when we instead could learn programming and make our own games which aren't limited to the SMW engine?

Good idea.

Oh, is that why pete? Now I feel like a jackass. Sorry.

well thats not retarded. he remakes all this games and adds them more thing and he makes it so new hackers can use it to develop their hacks.

a lot of people have pointed that out before yes. and i'll give you the same answer i gave them: i'm making these so that people will practically be able to hack the SMAS games with Lunar Magic. that's it, just so that other hackers can make good games. i never lock my hacks. is that so retarded?

Well said SH

one reason is so we can all make hacks of our own using graphics ripped instead of the default graphics, also for those people who DONT have all 3 or 4 consoles or any of the older versions they can use this to see what they missed out and dont forget hes adding more levels to this as well so no its not the same at all to any of the other versions.

I'm surprised that no one's pointed out that peter is taking tons of time and energy to recreate games that have been released at least 3 times already, and sometimes more. And even so, he is making them easier because of the backup item.

I'm sorry, but I think this whole thing is retarded. I can play SMB 1-3 anytime I like, and on 3-4 different systems. Why do we need it on the SMW engine as well? And why do I seem to be the only guy that thinks that (at least, no one else has said anything)?

nicely said JJ! enough about SMB4 guys, i haven't even started making it yet. when i do, i'll make a screenshot thread, and you can argue about the name all you want. @Raccoon_86: sorry i meant to say Raccoon Luigi in the first place. @Ikuzou: look a few pages down for the SMB1 thread. the overworld of TLL will be a rearranged version of that, and i might change the trees and things to make them look like they do in SMA4's e-world.

It's a kinda silly thing to argue about, but I think we can all agree that d4s has yet again laid the smack down.

wrong!
get your facts straight, dude.

Well, since it was only called super mario bros 4 in japan, you could still use that title for that one hack of yours.

Or you could just go with super mario bros 5.

As far as Raccoon mario gose, i think it is fine as it is.
Nothing wrong with putting a cape in super mario bros.
Heck, when they first started working on super mario bros back in the 80's, shigeru wanted mario to ride a dinosaur back then.
So even puting yoshi in it would not be too bad of an idea.

Actualy, in japan super mario world was called super mario bros 4.
Not sure why they changed it when they brought it here thogh.

But these screenshots do look awsome.

I have a simple question thogh, and it may have been asked already but.
Will you be able to fly or just float down with the cape?
I have played hacks where flying was taken out but you were still able to float down.

I am looking forward to this thogh.

Mario 64, heh! nah, i'm making only 6 ports: Super Mario Bros. Super Mario Bros. The Lost Levels Super Mario Bros. 2 Super Mario Bros. 3 Super Mario Bros. -e+ Yoshi's Island that's aside from the other SMW hacks i'm making which aren't ports and are completely original: mario_ac Super Mario Bros. 4 anyway back on topic! there WILL be new levels in this game. just like the upgraded SMB1, it will have all of the original levels plus the maximum amount of new levels. in the end it will have 16 worlds with 6 levels each. credit goes to Googie, Shadic, and Frank15 for letting me rebuilt the levels from their SMB NES hacks into this hack! thanks for all the nice comments so far!

That may be slightly possible if someone got the code for the pickup block and made it spawn a harmless enemy with Mario sprites on a recreation of the thing they were all on, That would be interesting...
