Strange, I just tried my patch and nothing was wrong with the overworld. Care to provide a screen Kefka?

There's not enough data for an editor yet anyway. Even before I lost half of the data, there wasn't enough. When I think I have enough, THAT's when I'll take a risk at having some guy hack my computer up

Okay, I stand corrected, you did release a hack, my fault. KA has 7 compression schemes? Damn, I give it to you for taking that on. I'm gonna ask my friend from Japan if they are any Kirby hacking forums out there, he enjoys any Kirby game.

Or, I can ask my cousin from Manhattan, he knows alot of PC languages, if you want e-mail me the data for KA so I can send it to him, he's nuts. He hacked WIN XP pro so you don't have to register & get SP2 updates. If I can get any good news I'll drop you a PM.

Sorry for being off topic, I really hope to see an editor for KA, since there's an editor for CV3, & that game is badass.

Maybe HAL was looking 10 years into the future and decided to protect from rom hacking. Not really, but it just feels that way sometimes.

Yea, another hard part about hacking this game, as some have pointed out to me, is that it is so damned good already.

What did YOUR first hack look like?

You know, after looking through Kefka's threads, he never released a hack. I'm still waiting for his Kirby editor. (whenever that'll happen)

Anyways for a first hack it's not bad, you'll improve. I like a good challenge, just fix up the little kinks & you'll be good to go.

Editor, eh? I don't think I'm capable of making an editor

And I did release a shit FF hack back on the old board. It was such a disgrace that it was completely withdrawn from the net altogether. This guy's hack was 10x better than mine, even with the flaws.

Yea, you shouldn't wait for a Kirby editor. I am just hoping to get a hacked level. And, mind you, this would be quite a feat, for there are, get this, 7 different types of compression in the friggin game! It is harder than hell to do stuff to levels.

Yea, but if you want me to release a hack soon, I can, for I can scrap together a level hack of some random game rather quickly Thanks to editors.

Yea, Kirby is hard to deal with. And yes, I did release a hack once. It was shit. So, that should answer everything If DD or bbit were doing KA, you would have a hack already, I'm sure. Unfortunately, I am doing it.

Ah, well as for Final Facelift Bytes, I can never get them to work properly (or at least to their full extent). For example, I keep running into the same problem with expanding the battle screen as everyone else seems to be. If more clarification is needed, check near the last post in the FFHacking help.
The forest villages I'm trying to incorperate into the story of the other two hacks.
Also, those statues are indeed used in the final level.
If you would like images of the more advanced hacks, I'll post them.

Please do. Really.

Yes, well, this was my first hack. Expect much better things in the future. What did YOUR first hack look like? You can't expect the best from a first timer. And besides, this criticism helps me understand how to improve upon this. And that text that doesn't match? That's been bugging me for as long as I can remember. After all, this hack has survived two hard drive crashes, three movements from one computer to another, and one entire loss of an archive. Now, if I hadn't put this out now, chances are I would of redone the entire thing. Wee.

You never said it was your first hack. Sorry

Ok, yea, here's some things that I think shouldn't be in a FF hack (this is only to help ya, see?):

1. No hidden towns in forests unless you have someone specifically give you a hint in another town that such a thing exists.

2. Make the first enemies at least somewhat beatable by a starting team. :| In FFHackster, you can rearrange what types of battles take place in different parts of the overworld. Go to the battle editor and the overworld editor and work on this a little. It really makes the hack a lot less evil.

3. I dunno why, but the whole door + tree thing isn't that good looking to me.

4. It would have been nice if you had at least an abridged version of the prelude in the game... having to read the whole thing in a Word doc wasn't as fun.

5. If you are going to superfy the graphics and everything, just go all out. Find out how to and use the Final Facelift bytes. It makes it look a lot better.

6. GOLBEZ!!! SWEET! (ok, so that's not a criticism, but yea)

7. I like the final level, but you should use those classic FF sprites as statues floating in space or something if they are going to be in the tileset. That would be cool.

8. Fix the overworld. Some really weird stuff happened to it when you made the IPS patch I am guessing. I am not sure how to fix it precisely, for it has never happened to me, but in the top sector of your map there is some REALLY weird junk. Fix that, and if you can't figure out how, ask someone like Lenophis, who has had to solve the problem before.

Ok, it could use a lot of work... perhaps making it a little easier at the start would make me inclined to play all the way through...

Oh, and I know what you are going through with losing data/notes and such. Although I am not sure why your comp crashes a lot, I have had to go through something similar. I have been switching households and computers a LOT recently, and as a result I keep losing my Kirby Adventure notes and having to refind data. I am doing that again right now. It sucks, I know. All I have to say is that each time you update something, you should put it on the web somewhere, even if it is emailing it to yourself. A crappily stored backup is better than no backup.

There's one thing I have to say about this hack after playing it:

EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW!!!!!!!

At least you are a good salesman. Those pics were deceiving. I thought it was going to be like, GOOD or something.

EDIT:

Dammit, if I had noticed THIS earlier:

I probably would have never made the mistake of downloading it :\

E is indeed for English. As for the beggining, there is a town abour four steps in front of you. Look for slightly different tiles. As for implementing the improvment bytes, I really would have had I not had this little hack setting on my computer for about 2 years. Especially when you skills are much miore refined than they were back then, I see this as a crappy hack that I did for practice. Yet this praise if far better than what I expected. Thanks all!

Yea, ok, it works on U. But geez... you'd think we could get our titles straight here. I spent quite a while looking for the non-existant Euro FF.

....You guys had to wait til #7? That REALLY sucks.

Yes, but (E) is supposed to mean European.

It's aweful hard, you start out in the middle of nowhere with no idea which direction to go and all the local enemies are tougher than you.

I've found a ruined castle, "the best fortified castle ever", and one town so far. The first two have nothing helpful, and the town seems to be somewhere I'm not supposed to be, as it has level two magic and all the monsters around there instakill me.

Care to give some degree of direction for how to start?

Ok!

A Euro ROM of this game doesn't exist. I know for sure that this game was never released in Europe. The first Final Fantasy to reach our shores was Final Fantasy VII...So I guess you can just use the (U) version...
