How about something else... I like the equippable moves, but how about equipable moves with restrictions such as only able to equip moves that a PoK

The equitable moves sound cool, you should do that. As for giving them every moves they can learn, it would make battling to easy. With 4 set moves you have to use skill and strategy but with every move it will be to simple.

If it is at all possible, I know this doesn't have to do with the battle system, but try to make a step counter, so you know how many steps it takes before your egg hatches. I've been carrying this Eevee egg all damn week, and it "still needs more time".

Stability: My policy is it works perfectly (as best I know) or it doesn't get included.

New moves: Unlikely; All but 3 of the slots for moves are used up, and to add more would require massive re-coding. Would be easy to do if I had the source code, but near impossible with just a ROM. There's memory restrictions to worry about too.

Cheapness using items: I fully intend to tweak things here and there to avoid people (including AI) being cheap as much as possible, and not just with items. Fortunately G/S was never too bad in this, unlike Ru/Sa. I'll probably divide items into categories (eg: healing, stat boosts, etc) and make restrictions based on that. I'd be interested to hear any combinations you can think of, though.

Abilities: This was one of the things I disliked most about Ru/Sa. Things like Volt Absorb, especially combined with the off-the-wall type combinations, make it nearly impossible to plan a strategy, because you can't even begin to guess what type your enemy is, and using certain attack types may only heal the opponent.

I also would like to see if anyone could compile a pokemon silver/gold/crystal into an advance game, that would require a lot of work.

Someone's working on that already.

Mabey you could make the new moves from the advance series.

I do beileve that you could also make your own moves up like Fire Tackle, Hydro Fang. (named examples) I also would like to see if anyone could compile a pokemon silver/gold/crystal into an advance game, that would require a lot of work.

Maybe you can add in 'abilities' like in Ruby and Sapphire. You know, like Blaze, or Torrent, or Serene Grace, or Thick Fat. That would be kind of cool ^^;

Hmm... Equipable moves? Funny idea.
Concidering the work involved in that, wouldn't it be just as tedious (well, more so) to utilize the various effects? Up two effects could occur each round. PKA in Silver? That would be wacked.

Otherwise I'm all for A. Who cares how long the move list is when you can orgainize them to your advantage.

Can already think of about half a dozen really nasty exploits for three items, even if you don't allow more than one of a type. That would absolutely need to be a restriction.

if you really get any of these ideas (besides G and probably D - well D would already be quite cool) to work properly (without crashing every 2nd battle) you've got my respect

I chose E. It would be awesome to have your Pokemon learn every move it knows, and have 6 extra spaces for TMs/HMs. And this is just a thought, but for added fun, you should hack the Pokemon's pictures and change what they look like, sort of like what Baro did with Quartz. But that was just an idea. It's your hack. Good luck on it, HH. I'm sure it's going to be awesome.

I'm planning to re-write a lot of the battle-related stuff in my Silver hack (unnamed now that Nintendo stole Emerald ), but I can't decide exactly what I should do...

A) Automatically learn new moves - once a Pok
