Can't be killed: The enemy in Resident Evil when you activate the mode with the monster you are not allowed to kill, and the dog from duck hunt

Disguises itself as a power-up: The Money Purse in SM64

Laughs at you: Most cartoon game bosses, and the dog from duck hunt

Frequently turns invisible or invincible or goes into a wall or some such stupidity: Floormasters

Paralyzes you, disables your weapon, etc: Re-deads, Duck Hunt dog (Can't fire the gun)

Pops out of nowhere, scaring you half to death, in a place that makes it nearly impossible to dodge: Nearly all of the zombies in all Resident Evil games, the dog from Duck Hunt (He scares me when jumping from the bush ready to laugh at you)

Is the dog in Duck Hunt: Erm...

Throws things at you from a place where you can't kill it: Any Archers in Ragnarok Online in a PvP server

Those are the best enemies that fit the list there

To be honest, I haven't played a huge amount of games, but the least liked enemy would have to either be the Dagger, the Space Biker, and the Hoodoo Doll (all from Startropics). The dagger would come up from the ground and stab you. The space biker would randomly land on the screen and zoom towards you.

The Hoodoo Doll was actually some kind of boss, and it would fire at you in all four directions. You also had to fight it twice. First time with only one in the room, and second time, there were two of them.

Startropics also had those things that would jinx you, and make you unable to use your weapon for a limited time, or until you left the room. They were called fuzz in that game.

The only good thing about floormasters is that you can get rupees easily. Hit one floormaster so it splits into 3 then let them grow. Hit the three big floormasters and they turn into nine. Kill the nine and you get three times as many items and rupees as you would have got before .

Only trouble with that is that you can recieve up to three times as much damage if you're not careful :\

I have a list:

T.A.C. from Kirby Superstar (but he was awesome as a helper)
Any enemy that laughed at you in the DKC games
Pretty much anything from Kingdom Hearts that could pull off a cheap block, including and especially the fat Heartless
Like Likes in any form, nevermind the stupid blobby things or the moving cylinders from the GB Zelda games
Floormasters (Wallmasters I can deal with. Floormasters are bastards! The worst bastard children of satan to ever crawl along a floor in any game ever)
A very large portion of the enemies from Conker's Bad Fur Day
Those spikebots from the Megaman series that dash along the floor that freeze for about .000000000000001 seconds when you hit them
Anything at all that comes from the Megaman Legends games (doesn't stop them from ruling, though).

Anyway, back to Floormasters: They suck. They're evil. The fact that they actually turn invincible AND can split into smaller versions of themselves that then grow into full versions of themselves is quite possibly the most annoying thing in all of Ocarina of Time.

absolutly anything from Mystical Ninja starring Goemon. Oh my god, the enemies in that game are cheap as hell. Not necessarily difficult to defeat, but they friging pop up out of no where...the ghosts and the kabuki things in particular. You have to use a specific character and use a CAMERA (that you need to wind up so it takes fskng forever) to see the ghosts, then you can hurt them. But in the meantime they can still hurt you, and it will mkae you have to start the camera over if it didnt go before hand. VERY annoying after trying to use the thing 4 times and failing, and you can't even hurt them.

The kabuki masks...just piss me off because the programmers decided "HEY! Let's put them up in the higest possible corner of a room and make them aim down at you so you have no fucking idea whats going on!" it's a TONS of fun to be walking through somewhere only to be bombarded out of fsckng no where, and you cant kill them because the programers put them somewhere where it would be physicly impossible for the protagonists themselves (keep in mind they can FLY, as well as turn entire continents into...fruit) to station the damn things. That asside, its a fun game, but Konami obviously decided they wanted to cause their players emotional distress (as apparent by their use of the IMPACT theme more than once throughout the course of the game )

The sandcrocs from Cave Story really bothered me.

But you know what's worse? The Nightmare from Metroid Fusion. It should be an easy boss, but my game starts to lag inexplicably whenever I fight it. .

Do you mean regular Tonberrys or King Tonberry? I have a friend that played it and he escaped as soon as he saw one.

I've always hated Like Likes though, I always seemed to have a problem with them in the original Zelda and in LA, I just hated having to go all the way back to a town to buy a shield.

Wallmasters were also always a pain. I hated them in the 3rd Dark World Temple in LttP (dungeon in the forest).

Those chafed my ass severely back in the day. They made Mega Man 4 unplayable for me. (And it wasn't like I sux0red horribly at platformers...I beat 2 and 3 just fine.)

Were they annoying as in "They are hard to beat." or "They always show up."? I say they are pretty easy. If you are going to mention an annoying Final Fantasy enemy, it has got to be the Tonberry, mainly the one in FFVIII. Too. Much. Health.

Hmmm... I find those big yellow guys in Viewtiful Joe on the hardest difficulty annoying. Primarily when they are at the beginning of the level you are on...

Most annoying enemy: Shadow, the primary enemy in Kingdom Hearts. Seriously, it won't matter what battle you are in, they will show up and just be there. They can later be killed in one hit, so you tend to ignore them to go after the stronger guys... but they jump you from behind and get the other guys to stomp you...

Those witches from the first Zelda were evil. Evil. They made the sixth dungeon impossible. I had my mom beat it.

And of course, the dog from Duck Hunt.

Red and Blue Bubbles are DEFINITELY in Zelda Classic - they needed to add them in when porting over the Second Quest.

The NSNick says...
I believe the second two are only in the Second Quest. Cause I've recently played through Zelda again (the First Quest), and I don't recall them being in there. Then again, I have the worst memory ever.

The team that works on Zelda Classic constantly add new things to the application. It's entirely possible that they added Red and Blue Bubbles. I'm sure that the spherical enemy described earlier is called a Bubble, though.

The beneficii says...
Are you talking about those things which in LTTP look like skulls in the middle of four orbiting red orbs and which bounce from wall to wall like the ball does in Pong? If so, then I agree with you. Those things are hard to watch and predict and often get in your way. Not only did they hurt your health, but they also drained your magic.

No, I was talking about the things that are actually stuck to the wall and move along it as if wheels rolling along a track. But I forgot about those LttP magic-draining skulls you mentioned. They definately get my vote for most annoying enemies.

Simple answer - spikes. And by spikes, I mean "dead in one hit no matter what happens" spikes. Mega Man would probably have the most glaring examples of that... I mean, Mega Man EXPLODES when hitting the spikes. Do they puncture his suit or something?

Emptyeye + NSNick: I believe from reading OLD magazines that the Red Bubble worked for 15 minutes. Granted, there would always be a Blue Bubble to bump into so that you wouldn't have to wait that long, but I guess Nintendo wanted to include an escape from that trap just in case something messed up.

In Oracle of Ages, they were especially annoying because they'd be placed in rooms with many tight passageways. They don't do much damage, but being hit fifteen times in two seconds is annoying like nothing else.

No, Nick, you're right.

As an aside, at the very end of Ys: The Ark of Napishtim on Nightmare (Well, on all difficulties actually), one of the last bosses is, to simplify a bit, surrounded by lasers that you have to navigate while attempting to hit the boss's weak points. On Nightmare, they're strong enough to kill you in two hits (Or they were with my setup anyway). Worse, if you jump and hit a laser, what usually happens is it knocks you down and "throws" you, leaving you easy prey for a second hit and a game over. Luckily, you get to start right from that boss when you lose, but still...easily one of the more annoying things I've done in recent gaming memory.
