Well, I reformatted and installed Knoppix, because I was having trouble with Ubuntu (and I like KDE more than GNOME, even though it looks godawful).
However, I installed Kismet successfully, yet it requires me editing /usr/local/etc/kismet.conf, which I "don't have permissions to", even in the root terminal. How do I edit the permissions so that I can edit this file? ![](images/smilies/shiftright.gif)
chmod a+rw kismet.conf
Yeah, that worked. ![](images/smilies/cute.gif)
Although, when I try to load it in a console, it says "FAIL: cannot connect to localhost:2051". How would I fix this, by setting up a localhost host? (I don't know how to do that on Knoppix ;(). |
