How about using a more lighter, more neutral red anywhere there is large fields of red. Yellows, oranges, browns and purples could also be used and still be red themed.
And why not have every level be a different color and call it Super Mario's Rainbow Quest or something. |

I played the first World. It's pretty good. A lot of surprises come up that I have to get around. How much of it is complete?
Perhaps instead of making a Red Bros. followed by a Blue, how about switching to Blue in-game? |

Kudos to you for sticking with your project. Don't mind the few trolls around here. Um, you ought to listen to the non this game sucks comments tho. As another said try to make other things closer to red, change the water color to purple, and fix the graphics for it. |

Please tell me you're colorblind. I would advise you to take a look at a colorwheel: or even the NES pallete, and when mixing colors pick something close to the base color: if you're going for an overall red theme, maybe you should give everything just a tint of red. not make everything red except some ugly blue water. maybe some purpleish water, maybe. but either way it's god-damn ugly (tm) |

This looks like it would hurt the eyes even more.
This looks pretty good. So do the last two pictures. The third one's alright.
BTW, how many levels have you gotten done on this? |
