I'm almost dead positive a spanish version already exists. I've seen French and German. And I know I've seen a spanish version of Secret of Evermore. It's bound to exist... |

The biggest problems are always text strings that are hard to find in the game itself. Because, if you want to do a right bug-testing you'll want to see every translated string at least once in the game. At least, that goes for me.
As for the Dutch translation progress. It's coming along pretty good so far with 6 people translating at the moment. |

After seeing something about "noth being able to read it" in the manual, I remember thinking that the text on those stones could actually be deciphered. It was disappointing to see two characters repeated over and over.
Fortunately, in the Wind Waker, they actually included decipherable language. That was spiffy. |

Never thought of that.
Of course, it is possible to get it even without the Pegasus boots, I'd always get it when I first reached Kakariko village all the time. |

I've gone through the script several times and never noticed that before. But it obviously pertains to the maze in Kakariko Village where you have to navigate it in 15 seconds or less to get a heart piece. I'm assuming it's something left in as a debugging measure as a reminder to the programmers to use the proper method to get to the guy at the end. They filled in any means of getting around the proper entrance later. (The hill, apparently) |

My name is Chris Houlihan.[2]This is my top secret room.[3]Keep it between us, OK?
Ha!
I'm sure we all know where that's from.
One question though, I was scrolling through to see if there was any text that didn't make it to the game. I came across this and I can't remember what part of the game it was from...
You have to enter the maze[2]from the proper entrance or I[3]can't clock your time...
Any ideas?

I've released a complete script of Zelda III - A Link to the Past. This document was taken straight from the game (using Hyrule Magic). This might be very useful for translators to foreign languages or hackers that first want to chance the monologue without taking the risk of a crashing Hyrule Magic.
I've also started a Dutch Zelda III - A Link to the Past translation project. Dutch people can download the script and return translated parts to me. Instructions are included with the script.
The script can be found on my website. Enjoy. |
