In my experiences, I usually watch a movie and only later find out that it's based off a book, so I read the book. You'd think I wouldn't enjoy it, since I know the general course of events and ultimate outcome, but you'd be wrong. Girl, Interrupted and Last Samurai are two of my favorite books which I discovered in this method. |

I would not usually read a book based on a movie simply b/c it seems sort of, illegitamate to me. Like the quality seems like it would be compromised, and a cheap way to generate extra income for the company.
Other way around, I sure would and have several times. I've been meaning to read Fight Club for a long time now. I enjoyed Jurassic Park much more than the movie, for example. |

Just out of interest, how many of you would read a book based on a movie -- or after seeing a movie based on a book, set out to read the book?
If you do read a book based on a movie, do you find the book more enjoyable than the movie? Same with if you read a book that a movie was based upon....?
Just wondering
Oh, and I'm vaguely considering reading the Star Wars Episode III book for something to do. |
